    Your first mopar...?

My first car wad a 67 Satellite 318/727-8 75. It was a little rusty but sounded awesome. Lots of fun in that car. I bought it when I was 15 after drooling over it for 5 or 6 years before I bought it. Sadly it wound up a parts car for the guy I sold it.

    Jamie's advice

When I see something that's pretty crusty I always think...Its just metal, it can be cut out and new welded in. Maybe it won't be perfect or like new but, can you make the car usable. Like they say on Roadkill...Don't get it right just get it running or, doing the wrong thing the right way or...

How many of your personal cars ended up in junkyards?

Not sure how many but, I'm pretty sure my 1st car wound up being scrap. I tried to buy it back on several occasions but the owner would just let it rot then, it was just gone.

    46RE transmission problem

Sounds like the band is either not adjusted correctly, the lip seal is leaking or the servo piston seal is leaking. Did you install the spring on the correct side of the reverse servo piston? Did you put a new convertor in or, are you using the old one?

anyone else here ever deal with the 4.7?

I have had a few 4.7's. They have all been good engines. The only one I ever had to work on was one we had in a Chrysler Aspen. It broke the manifold bolts(very common) on the drivers side but, other than that all 5 that I have owned were pretty good. I did have to put a crankshaft position...

    More than enough.

    E-Coat on new fenders

80 grit is way to aggressive for what your trying to do here. If your going to DA the e-coat off it will come off really easy with 180 up to 320 and not leave super deep scratches to worry about later.

When to make a car a parts car?

If its complete and isn't rusted to the door handles then you save it. It's only a K frame away from having a better drive train in it....Hell...this should of been a parts car but, I couldn't bring myself to do it.

    COLORS THAT ELUDE ME

I would agree that certain colors will play some tricks on your eyes after looking at them for so long during a paint job. I painted a 46 Ford truck that Seafoam green color and by the end of that my eyes were playing tricks on me.

    COLORS THAT ELUDE ME

I have always tried to explain to people the feeling I get after a car is painted, polished and ready for assembly...its like nothing else when you can stand back and look at it finished and know what it was before....I'm sure you get it. Such a feeling of accomplishment.

    COLORS THAT ELUDE ME

I know that color. My buddies dad has a 67 Hemi Charger. It originally was that goldish color. When he restored it he painted it that original color but hated it...lol He wound up painting it 66 gold and it's a completely different color. If that's the original goldish on the one you did?

    COLORS THAT ELUDE ME

I would say that A-4 silver has been the worst color I have painted. Super transparent, looks super goldish..copper ish going on and hard to tell when you have complete coverage. I could go the rest of my life and hope to never paint that again.

    COLORS THAT ELUDE ME

I have done both FC7 and WW1. WW1 is really easy to paint but will play tricks on you as it's not a bright white. The Demon I recently painted FC7 was the first full car I had painted that color. Due to some unforseen events there were a few spots during putting the base on that I had to sand...

    Newer challenger's

We bought a '17 Scat Pack Challenger back in '19 with 3400 miles on it. This car has been flawless. Great cars!! Lots of power, can get decent mileage, sounds great, creature comforts and, we love this car. They are very comfortable on a long trip. The newer ones really are the best of both...

Do you actually Hot Rod/Race your Mopar?

My Duster isn't fast enough to take to the track but, I do beat on it a little for fun...got to blow out the cob webs..lol My Challenger on the other hand, I'm afraid of breaking stuff if it hooks up. I pound on it on the street though and, if you line up next to at a light or going down the...

What color would you say this is?

That car could any color of orange. I see the engine bay is mostly black so, maybe previous guy was a Chevy guy and, it's hugger orange. Trying guess a color with pictures over the internet is impossible. I agree you need to go to a auto paint supplier thar can scan it to find a match but, you...
