how much power will it support though? i just put a new 2bbl (carter) on my car, so it will be good for a while. after i get the heads done and a new intake manifold, then ill try out this carb. but i was wondering how far it would take me before id have to go bigger?

i want to add up how much it will cost to put a six pack on a small block. summit has MP dual plane six pack manifold for small and big block apps. i was trying to find out how much the carbs cost. i guess im looking at doubling the cost of an engine build doing it that way, but i am curious.

well, i know its not my ballast resistor, i replaced that proactively a while back. i ended up giving up on that carb, it still leaked horribly inside and out. even after i adjusted everything accordingly... i bought a remanufactured carb, $105.80, got it on, broke my pcv valve, oops, new one...

why would a bad carb react slowly or not at all?

no, i did not screw it up. the carb works. its a 2 barrel carter, stock piece for my 318. the reason i rebuilt it is because the car would run just fine, then it would kind of die back a little, sputter, and die, then be almost impossible to restart. took a long time to get started usually...

whitezombie: do you have stock heads? did you get the 383/440 covers, or did you get the valve covers for the 92+ magnum V8?

how do you know if the PCV is broken? whitezombie, on jegs.com it says the black wrinkle finish is for 383/440 only, and the chrome ones are for the 318/etc, do they fit well? i was going to get the mopar performance breather kit (only in black 'wrinkle' finish) and the valve covers to match...

the guy i bought the car from told me that it runs better with a quart low, if it has 5 quarts, it leaks... could this be because of the pressure in the case like you guys are talking about? maybe my breather is plugged up? it has a tube the goes from the drivers side valve cover to a breather...
