    I will say that the Ford Contour fans do work. I was running up to 240 on my 67 GTS with 499". Took the March pulleys off and installed Contour fans with Dakota controller and no more heating problems.

    took me a long time to determine the March pulleys were causing me problems and hated to take them off but didn't like seeing it get to 240 either. The pulley change and Contour fan setup fixed mine. Glad to hear you got it!

    C, I would remove fans from front of radiator and if you can tilt your condenser forward at the top to let more unrestricted air pass thru the radiator may help. I did it on my 499" in the GTS and along with the Contour fans has my problem taken care of. No telling how . time and money I spent...

    I had a Farmall tractor that I ran 24-7 for 3 weeks at the time powering paddlewheel airator in catfish ponds that didn't even have a water pump on it and while working in stationary position didn't run hot!

    I am afraid of flex fans since I had a friend get killed by one when blade came off and went into his chest. I know it was a freek accident but he was trying to locate a noise and was revving engine up on a 396 Chevelle when blade came off.

    I went through all these cooling issues on my 499" trying different radiators, fans, water wetters, water pumps and anything else I could think of and nothing worked until I followed the Contour fan setup posted by Goldduster 318.     did you check to see if water was bubbling in radiator with cap off before it gets hot? If so head gasket may be blown.

    I am running a powermaster double groove alternator. With the 3 groove crank pulley the alternator and ac compressor are running on the 2 inside grooves and water pump and power steering are running on the outside groove. Wish I was better with pictures

    I had this problem with a set of March pulleys on my 499" in the GTS. Crank pulley was smaller that water pump making it an underdrive. I put steel pulleys back on it. The contour fans solved my heating problems on it. These other pulleys that I gave the part numbers for are on the small block...

    I found them on ebay that had been blasted and painted. The crank is a 3 groove mopar #3614377 and water pump is single groove mopar #3462825. I have Vintage air and power steering. Hope this helps, Joe

    after I ground Contour fan to clear the w/p pulley I had to mount it to radiator and slide it in together. It is close but works using a Champion CC375 3 core to cool my 499" in 67 GTS, Joe
