Any tricks to removing a stuck/stubborn/rusted-in place bleeder?

I was told to wack it really good with a hammer off to the side for the shock value to help loosen it up. Heat comes after if that’s a failure.

Rear drum question 7.25 vs 8.75

Gotcha. BluNblu probably knows this. I do know that backing plates can have different depths. I’d bet, they would swap over just fine but I DON’T KNOW FOR SURE!

Rear drum question 7.25 vs 8.75

I don’t know for sure but I’ll say; “If the backing plate fits.” Swap everything over.

What to do with old 9 inch drums?

The hubs are sometimes wanted by drag racers for Willwood disc set ups. If the drums themselves are still good, as in there’s actual service life left in them, they could help someone out that has that size drum. The knuckles are worth a few bucks, the drums less. The hard part is cost of...

What caused inboard front disc brake pad to score the rotor?

I’d say a bad glue job for a lack of better words allowed the steel backing shim/plate on the pad to let go. A rock or small metal shard was the most likely item that made the 1 in a million jump off the road and became stuck between the brake pad and the disc. The caliper should be easy to...

    1985 Dodge D150 Brake Problem

Agreed with the above. 1 of 2 things. The seal in the master cylinder could be giving way. The brake booster has a leak somewhere on and off. Check the master cylinder first. It’s the most likely.

    A body vs. B body 8 3/4 backing plates.

I’ve done the same thing a few times. The entire drum assembly needs to move over. I also did an 11 inch swap on a couple of cars. Also the big disc swap as well. Gotta love them Cordoba brakes!

    Master Cylinder Bore?

The smaller bore master will give you more feel of the brakes and feel of the stopping power on the road. Chances are this is what your used to anyway. The larger one will require more muscle from the leg and grab harder and quicker. This is how I understand it to be. I may also go your route...

    Master Cylinder Bore?

The bigger bore master is often used or suggested for the drag racers. More pressure sooner to help with high speed slow downs. But as mentioned, your pushing more fluid which is harder to move since it doesn’t compress.

9 and 10 inch wheel cylinders

I do think your right. I have 9 inch drums all around on my Duster and IIRC, your correct.

Dr. Diff 11.5" front brakes showed up tonight

Nice! Late B body stuff right? Love that set up. Best factory offering that is an easy to do swap/step up. Wasn’t the Doc out of that for awhile?

    Durango Brakes Won't Bleed

I had the same issue. To bad I wasn’t awake enough to realize that the calipers were installed upside down! Yea, bleeder screws on the bottom. Amazing huh?!?!

That’s a good weight loss. Do you drive the street a lot with those brakes? What’s your cars weight?

Who has Dr. Diff 8 3/4 rear discs?

It’s just the way the system works. It’s weird, I know. But it just works that way and no other way while other systems work in a different way and in just there way, not the other way.

A note about Cherokee disc brake swaps

OK cool. I was t sure if this was going in a weird direction or not, glad it was not. Hey did know two by the name Felix and both were properly fitted to there name. But those you mention, sorry, that’s a negligible ghost rider... FWIW, the screen name is actually what I call my car. It never...

Buy new or use what I have

Ya ain’t lyin! I’d also be on to the next issue. This should have been done and driving by now. The bearing cleaning advice was good. I’ve only used brake cleaner to get my bearings cleaned up. Repack them in grease Immediately and install! Boom baby! Next! This is it even a days work. If you...

Buy new or use what I have

Besides surface rust, it looks good to go. I had some disc’s that I thought were a bit rough. I ran my hand wrapped in sand paper. The rust just disappeared really quick. Is probably nothing to worry about. Though I can only see so much on the phone. When you order the new disc’s, just tell...
