Agreed, Lear springs will fix this issue. The wheel back space is under 4 inches. It’s not the tire in question. But is it the same size and what rim do you have on there?

A 275/60/15 fits. I did it myself. I’m is a 28 inch tire and it is very close. I don’t see a 29 fitting unless you can make sure it is in the wheel well really well. Still, the front of the tire may very well rub on the car body by the front spring hanger. If there is a way to get a 29 inch tire...

The Cooper Cobras are a drivers tire like a BFG - TA, a general performance tire .… Like a regular passenger car tire but there compound is softer than a regular tire but far from any type of actual performance tire.

It may depend on the off set of the wheel. For me, 26” was a no go on Wheel Vintiques 15 X 8 Ralley Wheels. The fire was a Mickey Thompson 26 X 8 tire. Flame tread series.
