    A833 fluid

    Great post @AJ/FormS

    A833 fluid

I’d save it for a rear end oil change since it has listed on it “Contains limited slip additive.”

    A833 fluid

I think the confusion comes in when the factory service manuals suggest gear oil in one book and ATF in another.

Will F, M, J-body clutch pedals work in an a-body?

And then they try to pick you up for a drink

Will F, M, J-body clutch pedals work in an a-body?

Can’t you take an earlier pedal set up from a B body, like a ‘73/‘74 and use those? I thought that was the case.

    A230 3-speed

I had a 318-3spd Duster with the low 3.08 first gear between the bucket seats and 3.21’s out back. *I think* it was a ‘73. Also having a moon roof and fold down rear seat. It was pretty peppy off the line for a bone stock 318.

Best 1st gear ratio with 2.94 differential

My son took the stick real quick. He loves it.
  8. rumblefish360

Best 1st gear ratio with 2.94 differential

Absolutely! Coupled with the amount of torque from the engine… LOL! What would you suggest for a SLR on a manual?
  9. rumblefish360

Best 1st gear ratio with 2.94 differential

3.23 X 3.09 = 9.98 That’s about optimal for a first year take off. 2.94 X 3.09 = 9.08. Still not to shabby. It’ll still have a decent off the line acceleration and it’ll have a good Hwy cruise rpm. A pretty good balance IMO.

Best 1st gear ratio with 2.94 differential

3.09 for sure. Multiply the gear ratio by the first gear ratio. The target sum should be as close to 10.00 as possible for arguably the best take off ratio. 2.44 X 2.94 = 7.17 - Not to great. 2.66 X 2.94 = 7.82 - An improvement, not so great though. 3.09 X 2.94 = 9.08 - Getting pretty nice...

    Mr Gasket Vertigate question.

The ❌ first s simply stated as “Disagree.” Nothing more, nothing less. If it’s more than that to anyone, you might have a slight problem and disillusion. Perhaps something more mentally. I think everyone needs to relax a bit here on this thread. Enjoy the day fellas.

    Where is the weak point

Spring perches, they will fold up I see a lot of power, weld in gussets. Sheet metal at the front spring hanger area can be ripped up and out under (serious) power. U joints, driveshaft. I wouldn’t run an adapter for the trunnion. I’d run a standard yoke of a 7290 at a min.

    What is this

    Locking pawl inside the trans?

    Is the transmission compatible

I can not answer the question but…… A 3.0 from a Chrysler? What year, make & model did it come out of?

Who wins the battle to build an A833?

    FWIW, I’d go with Liberty.

    Scatter shield vs bellhousing

Yes sir that’s correct. The high rpm will expose any weakness brought on by the high shock loads of the manual trans. At his listed 6600, I wouldn’t worry about it coming loose but I’d run a scatter shield.

Fit B body pedals in A body.

Seems to me you know more than I do about this. I’ve never done pedal swaps before. I’ve only had 1 Duster and 1 E body ‘Cuda with pedals and they never left the car.
  21. rumblefish360

Fit B body pedals in A body.

That’s what I was wondering. Hey slantsixDan, at the threat of a thread hijacking….. Will B body 72-74 4 spd pedal work in a 78-79 B body?
  22. rumblefish360

Fit B body pedals in A body.

@Dartnut Thats what I was thinking. Nothing a sawzall and a welder can’t fix! HA HA HA But that’s probably more of a PIA than anything making it more or less not a great thing to do. @GTX JOHN What year B body pedals do you have?
  23. rumblefish360

Fit B body pedals in A body.

    Is there a ratio difference?

    A833 O/D Cover/Access-plate installation
