How far in the hole 318 pistons

This probably won't be much help to you as this motor had been apart a couple of times with a 0.040" overbore, but on my 1973 casting 318 the pistons were about 0.070" in the hole. The block had been decked before but I don't know how much was taken off. Factory pistons could of had a higher or...

Appreciate some input on spark plug reading

Word salad. Do you ever make anything run to show your work? I couldn’t care less what Bruce or Larry do. I know you can’t tune. You repeat what you read and take it as gospel.

Appreciate some input on spark plug reading

If you understood the basics of combustion and chemistry you would understand that any AFR below 14.7 would leave free carbons to find they're way onto the spark plug during combustion due to the heat and pressure generated at ignition time. Considering Bruce Robertson and Larry Widmer could...

    Cheap 318 performance mods.

Weiand Action Plus is a good intake... but so are many other dual plane intakes. IF keeping the coil mounted to the intake, then make sure the intake you use has the bosses for the coil mount. Many "cheap" head options.. .including using the heads you have. Good valve job and cut them .030 for...

Project "Chihuahua" '65 Formula S Restoration "Estilo Mexicano"

Dibbons, I did finally find the GZ-88148 clips I bought from Laysons. They appear to be correct (although lacking the pad). They fit nicely in the trim. The 2nd picture shows one in the trim next to one of my factory clips.

    intake swap performer loss?

you'd probably not loose too much going to the performer, but i think it would be pretty noticeable on the iron unit. have you tried a drop base air cleaner to see if you can get the hood clearance?

    Cheap 318 performance mods.

I’m new to the Mopar world and was seeking some advice. I bought a 1975 Duster body and a low mileage 318/727 out of a 1977 campervan for it. I was looking for some info on cheap, easy mods to make it run better. I have a set of long tube headers and was considering swapping heads to the newer...

    intake swap performer loss?

63 dart stock car 360 5:57 rear 2bbl rochester. I can use the weiand 8022 "stealth" intake on their now but it is so tall that I cannot close the hood. I'm allowed to use the edelbrock "performer" which is a bit shorter & the IMCA leader said that he would allow me to use the OE iron 2bbl...

Don’t have a 5 gas. Looked into it. It’s a fools errand unless you think you need to save the world. I haven’t hooked up the scope to it yet. Probably won’t. It’s a 630ish hp engine. A decent Chrysler ignition would fire it. I use Performance Trends to run the dyno. Let me see if I follow...

:poke:Dang John....picking on us little guys!! That 440 was built in 1990 and it's last race - yes the very last time it was run - was winning the Heavy ET bracket final at the old defunct Detroit Dragway!. That was back in 1993!! 318 Oil Pan Gasket/Sealing techniques?

I thought the same thing about pulling it out for an overhaul but it runs so well as is, so I really hate to do it. It will get a new timing set for sure while I have the front cover off. I’ve got a lift so it takes a lot of the frustration out of doing something like this.

    [WANTED] A Body Rad #2898033

I just picked up another one, but it was original to a 68 Hemi Dart from the original owner of that car. Glen-Ray lost out on buying the tooling and it was destroyed, so no more from them. I sold one they rebuilt last year at the Mopar Nationals and it went for $1700...

For the most part this brings me up to current, this weekend I'll start on the disassembly to pull the engine. Once the engine (and everything else) is removed I'm going to have the engine compartment repainted. As I'm putting a new k-member in the install will be bottoms up. Alan

Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

Where can you buy a US made TV? The answer is you can’t. And that’s where we are headed. In 20 years everything will be Chinese junk. So you can’t say we don’t ***** about everything that comes from china. Or India. Or who gives a ****? We won two world wars. We fund every first world nation...

No, you never know when you may need a spare. It is hard to say when or if these will ever be reproduced. I saw this coming from over four cars, I thought it was coming through the glass. Not little gravel, just glad it didn't hit paint. Alan
