Found my dads original 1971 duster!

That’s awesome! Nobody that I know has been able to really explain it to me. I’m a home builder and have a passion for cars, but I don’t know much about engines etc. That was very very helpful! Thanks :)

There’s a link below his screen name. Click on it. If you’re on a phone, turn it sideways and it’ll show up. His story is awesome as well.

speedmaster stuff pulled from Summit racing shelves

So I wonder if Speedmaster will Have a Black Fourth of July 40% off sale to stabilize business. I would like to buy one of those new single plain small block Mopar intakes to play with.

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

Every engine has a cam (at least in the realm of stuff we’re interested in) and upgrading a cam during an engine rebuild is common. The lunati “cam kit” he ordered and installed is a cam and lifter set (you don’t reuse lifters on new cams so they sell em as kits) and is a well know street grind...

    Headliner help

That looks like them but I have a Dart not a Barracuda. I also know they go in in a certain order but your headliner guy should be able to figure it out.

I got a few I would sell. Shipping isn't too bad on these as well. I'll take some pictures when I get home of the ones I have to choose from.

    Headliner help

I have a 1969 Barracuda Fastback. I'm having the headliner installed in June and need to order parts for him. I bought the car Dec 2023. The man rebuilding it passed away. His wife gave me everything she could find, but I'm sure lots is missing. Does anyone know what the headliner poles/bow...

    12:05 Garage- ’70 Duster build

I'd image the RPM would change on the SRV based on the camshaft. But you're right, I really don't have a desire to have that functionality on this car. If I was building a cruiser with a basically stock motor, most definitely. The voice in my head is already thinking of an upgrade to this motor...

    Headers vs. Manifolds

You might make sure that the b-body manifold will clear the steering on the drivers side.

    Headers vs. Manifolds

That'd be driver's side, that goes under the steering gear.

    Headers vs. Manifolds

The HP manifolds look like they would flow fairly well for a stock manifold. The manifolds I'm looking to purchase are priced about the same as a Summit or Jeg's B-Body header.

Please enjoy the photos of this A Body. It is not mine but I wish it was.

I like it but other than the Hemi I'll stick with the one in my garage!!

    Headers vs. Manifolds

With headers I can immediately feel the increased RPM response. The only reason to not run headers is the budget.

Very nice car and great story. Welcome from WI. In 2018 I found my Dad's 1971 GSS Demon from when I was a child. It is a great feeling to have it. My story is down in my signature. Congrats. Car looks great.

That looks like the stock spring. What type of clutch you running? You’ll want that if your running a a borg & beck style.

340 duster 4 speed clutch pedal?

I always adjust my clutch by removing the inspection cover and adjusting the linkage so there is about 1/8- 3/16" gap between the throw out bearing and the pressure plate fingers. The bearing should not ride on the pressure plate until you depress the pedal. The free play will be good as long as...

Big Block Low Deck engine install in 68 Dart

One pickle I got caught in was needing to pick up the front end after the K-frame was bolted in but before I had the engine off the cart. The cart was in the way of using a floor jack so I lifted the car up engine and all like this - pucker time but it held no problem to raise it up just enough...

That’s awesome to hear! Thanks a lot for the input. So that cam kit is considered “adding a cam” to the engine then? I told them I wanted that lumpy kind of muscle car sound
