year one, problems, anyone know this?

My Year one story goes way back, maybe to the late 90s. I ordered something there and waited and waited and waited...finally called them they said "its on back order". Ok couldnt you have called or something. I ended up waiting till it showed up I don't remember how long but i seem to recall 6...

    intake swap performer loss?

Again, not great with the small block, but... port size on a 273/318 intake will have quite a bit less height than a 340/360 port. A 360 intake gasket will tell you which iron 2bbl you have.

Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

If things go too far, I think they will be out of business before all the hand porters die. Your port might be better but I bet it will never be the cheap option. And based on Speedmaster's success, seems people care more about cheap. :D To be clear, I'm not a fan of the option, just...

Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

I believe we will always need machine shops and flow bench head port guys ...guys with dynos to actually measure the gains...just for the guys who are serious about going fast and being competitive.

Yeah. PM the addresses of your hotels, I’ll find camping spots close to those. Also, gonna have you drop the truck and trailer at my house vs the farm. Easier in and out and more secure. Farms had some more break ins

    Cheap 318 performance mods.

I should point out that all the good information we gave is only applicable to keeping the whole budget low enough if the engine being used is in good health and is known to run fine with no issues. If there is anything iffy found that would require a machine shop to fix then this could become...

    intake swap performer loss?

actually I have a street dominator & the ports look good but the rules wont allow it. I just now brought home the performer & I'm gonna see how its height compares to the weiand that's on their now and to the iron 2bbl intake I have on the shelf. I need to find out if the iron one is a 360 one...

Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

As I said before a good head porter can improve any cnc’d head. When all the hand head porters are gone what are you going to copy then. Lol.

    Cheap 318 performance mods.

Personally and in my experience I cant see seeking out 318 parts (302 heads) the natural progression that I went through as a young man is play around with the 318, cam, headers carb exhaust, ran good but want better ... seek out and find a 340-360 ...that is the natural way of things not...

Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

With the advent of 3D scanners, it is even easier to copy parts. Who needs to spend the time and money to build their own CNC port tooling when you can buy a single head and us a 3D scanner to duplicate the port. Brent and @pittsburghracer become unnecessary at that point. That might be...
