340 exhaust heat shield needed for Van's to repop.

I know that its expensive, but they don't need to recoup their initial investment all at once, spread it out over time. How many years has the rear valance panel been out and it's still $400, that's greed

[FOR SALE] SBP Front Drum Setup $50

These parts came off my drum/drum ‘68 Barracuda which was converted to front discs. 10” brakes, shoes measure 2.25” wide. Spindles, hubs, bearings and backing plates are all in great shape. Drums should be turned, wheel cylinders were working fine and not leaking. They’re marked as made in USA...

Torsion Bar Adjuster Nut in Saskatoon Anyone??

My 70 Swinger is up on the hoist with a stripped adjuster nut, any chance someone in Saskatoon, SK has one? Or any dealer close by I could go pick one up? A long shot I know, but what the hell, worth a shot

Stop in for a cup of coffee

@halifaxhops Ray, it could be a plug, dist cap or wire too. And, a subtle misfire could be a coil. Those coils have replaced the ballast resistor every guy carried in his glovebox.

    Been awhile

Haven't been on in a while, and longer since I posted. Had some marital problems, a stress induced nervous breakdown, health issues, a separation, and depression all playing games with me for the last eight and a half years. What did I miss?

340 exhaust heat shield needed for Van's to repop.

If I was doing an accurate restoration, I would GLADLY pay $300 for a part that is otherwise unobtainable. Sometimes people really crack me up. They ***** and complain because certain parts are not being repopped. Then, when a company drops a fortune on making the part, and charges an...

I would buy one from Vans. Good for them for stepping up and trying to reproduce them.

    Steering coupler drift pin question

I can see buying a disposable tool from HF, but a roll pin that could potentially fail and kill you????? Just saying!

Did get the cab corner shaped and started tacking it in. Think it looks ok. Better when its not on hoist at eye level.

340 exhaust heat shield needed for Van's to repop.

I was just reading the thread that Joe posted, and someone from Detroit Muscle Technologies was telling Van's that a guy who used to work at Roseville but is now at Mancini's has been working on a reproduction. Is that clear enough? :p

340 exhaust heat shield needed for Van's to repop.

Maybe I should sell my cars…. That way it will eliminate me being in any accidents/collisions, which in turn would reduce my insurance costs, reduce my fuel bill, reduce wear and tear items and also eliminate me needing to find replacement parts for anything!! Oh and that’s not even factoring...

Unplug injector one at a time. Thats where a noid light comes in,plug light and start it. You can use a light bulb as well. If all cyls flash and you can identify which cylinder doesent change then you have identified which cyl is misfiring.

Thanks for the heads up @pittsburghracer ill follow along. Were these heads ported similarly? Or are the trick flows out of the box and the speedmasters cnc ported out of the box? I guess the question is how much work did you do to each set?
