Found my dads original 1971 duster!

Once a year a cool story like this will pop up. Last year it was @Scott_ 69HemiDart inheriting his FIL's '69 Hemi Dart. This year is your year and I am looking forward to following along on your build.

Due to environmental and emissions laws, places in CA, Oregon and WA rely on recycled material to reduce some of the energy overhead of blending their own alloys. A356 is also used in most every automotive application and so getting recycled material domestically isn't tough. Most raw aluminum...

That is all it needs. The factory put those two bolt holes where it would be perfectly balanced

Timing chain set for the street/driver?

I've had good luck out of the Edelbrock double roller chains. I replaced the fuel pump gasket on my 360 in the 71 Challenger, and checked the chain while the pump was out. Has about 10K miles on it since it went in in 95....still tight. Motor has the Mopar Performance 761 cam in it and gets the...

Almost as entertaining as a boat ramp.

Sitting out front with my after breakfast coffee watching the neighbor down the street make dozens of tries at backing a trailer into his driveway. Cars backed up waiting for him to get out of the way. Could end up being his fourth DUI if the right car comes along. Jees, I need to go find...

    My Luck

A favorite local steak house had Turkey Nutz on their menu as an appetizer. I never did ask if they were or were not as written  . Sitting in the lounge waiting for a table was just not right without Turkey Nutz, salsa and a Vodka cocktail of some variety  I think someone must have...

Here is their facility, however, I do not know where the aluminum comes from... but so much raw metals come from overseas. Edelbrock Foundry: Expanding the Horizons of Aluminum Casting Education | Drag Illustrated | Drag Racing News, Opinion, Interviews, Photos, Videos and More

Wildwoods has 1.063 bore. Yours should have 1.031 bore. That is why I thought it would work. Didn't know about your rear discs. Like said Post#5 you should be good.

I'm sure we have all been burned like that, and I'm sure sometimes the copy was so good we didn't even know it. I would guess your fuel filter was sourced from somewhere like fleaBay? Probably not Summit or any truly reputable distributor. But this is exactly why Summit had to drop them...

for whatever it's worth... this is what their websites brag .. i copied and paste "Edelbrock Performance Cylinder Heads are indeed made in the USA, offering top-notch quality and performance. Crafted from A356 aluminum" they also used the term "USA state of the art foundry" and it's in San...

I was saying this the other week when I stated I was having my J heads rebuilt and got bombarded with the usual expert opinion of " not worth it Sped masters are the same money" I said "what happens when all of a sudden Chinese isn't available any more..." welp ...here we are :) Might want...

Agreed. IMO, Edelbrock has been casting overseas for years, but no one wants to believe their beloved Edelbrock would do such a thing. They're a corporation just like the rest and are looking to make a buck just like everybody else.

This mess has the potential to cripple SM's business. Summit is huge... if Summit dropped them for whatever reason and nobody ever heard about any counterfeit SM products, it would severely impact SM's sales. But we have heard about the counterfeit SM products, so they are dealing with being...

Timing chain set for the street/driver?

I second the Rollmaster/JP. Timing sets are one area that I will now not cut corners. Timing needs to be stable and correct in even a stock motor. After 15 minutes run time, a stock single row timing set is looser than a hooker on payday.

Part of the reason that my '70 340 Duster may be disappearing!!

My wife just got a longarm quilting machine to take her quilting skills to another level! She's just used this machine to "finish" my 50th U.S. Nationals quillow by adding flame stitching to it!! Now all we have to to do is finish paying for it. I'm truly tickled as to how the addition of the...

    Vacuum Secondary Conversion

I'm not offended at all. You asked for advice. I was giving it. First off, you have to have a carburetor that is tuneable. All of them are not. They must have replaceable air bleeds on top, replaceable idle fuel restrictors in the metering blocks and replaceable power valve restrictors. It also...

If it works good, leave it. The residual valve in the rear brake circuit should be removed or perforated if still there. ( See pix ) If you like the feel, - fine, - if it feels too hard to push, you could go to a smaller bore M/C, still Mopar. If feel the need for another expensive decal, go...
