    Glidden Arrow

It would be interesting to see how much compression it’s running, sure has some pop.

    It's HAWT!

Supposed to be near 100° today and 102° or so tomorrow, add in the humidity and it's miserable air you can wear.

Not a Mopar, but super cool.

Went to a small tire no prep shoot out at my local track today. They ran a street car class, small tire and big tire. The starting line was just past the finish line in the shut down area. This was the coolest car on the property, big tire, all aluminum Pro Charged Hemi, 58 Chevy Delray two...

Went for a little cruise yesterday

After church my wife wanted to go to KY Dam and walk a bit, I agreed under one condition, we take the Dart. It has been in the shop all winter covered up and hadn't been started since November. I turned the power on, gave it about four pumps and it fired right up, music to my ears! My sister...

    340 A body versus 383 B body

There was some discussion in a thread in the small block section about 340 A bodies and 383 B bodies. The information below is a copy and paste from a thread on class racer. "The below results were from Jerry Gross, Chrysler Technician who tested many Factory Cars. Tested Average 1968...

    Racing last weekend

A couple months some guys put together a 16 car heads up race for fast street cars, I know opinions differ on what is a "fast" street car, LOL. The race was last Friday night 10/21. Any way this group was to be in the 6.20-6.50 range. I was selected to be one of the 16, the only Mopar and oldest...

    A blast from the past!

This was probably from 1971 or 2. $30K was a lot of money then, almost $220K today.

    Well........that was interesting

I have a 6.50ish race coming up in a couple weeks at my local track. The track is not really a decent radial track, so my plan is to run slicks for the race. Last night they had a small tire no prep race and grudge racing, $20 for the grudge, as many passes as you want. I already had the slicks...

    T&T Friday night

I'm going to T&T Friday night to hopefully help get me ready for the Moparty. Will probably put the slicks on tomorrow, even on race night this track isn't radial friendly. I'm expecting my reaction times to start with .1 or .2. LOL

    Be careful out there guys!

I know several of you are racing this weekend, please watch for heat exhaustion or stroke. Drink plenty of water or Gatorade. Two weeks ago we had a microburst storm pass through that blew my corn in the garden down, all the patio furniture ended up in the pool and broke the tempered glass...

No racing this weekend for me

My wife just returned from a great vacation in the Smoky mountains. We ate well and hiked over 24 miles and saw tons of bears. Wednesday night she thought there was a sinus infection coming on. Thursday on the way home she started getting chills and didn't feel good at all. This AM she went to...

    I've done it now!

Sorta off topic, but not really either. I'm retiring, well sort of. I'm leaving the chemical plant I've been working at for over 14 years. My last day at work is next Saturday and my official retirement date is 5/1. No more swing shifts, working weekends or being forced to work! I'll be sleeping...

    Moparty

I had a great time this weekend and just wanted to give a shout out to B3422w5. Don and I have been internet buddies for a long time and met each other for the first time last year at the event. Don's a great guy with a beautiful Dart that runs hard. He also has a great group of friends that...

    My quest for a 9, I failed.

I took my Dart to the Moparty at Beech Bend in Bowling Green hoping for a 9 second pass. The car has ran 6.25 @ 110 in the 1/8 with 1.34-36 60'. Street/strip 69 Dart, 3300# with me and no exhaust, 434" small block that runs on pump 93, 727, Strange S-60 with 4.10's and a 275 radial. Time slips.

Who is getting ready? I have my vacation approved and my hotel reservations made. My helmet and belts are expired. The new helmet should be here next and my belts came today. Jegs did well.

    Carb spacer/intake flange?

I have the carb off my 434 and noticed that the Super Sucker four hole spacer doesn't match the intake flange opening very well in the corners. It overhangs quiet a bit, tomorrow I'll try to scribe it to see just how much. When I sent the heads and intake to Larry Smith he wanted the spacer too...

Took my pig a drive today

Yesterday I discover my 14 Ram with 38k miles needed rear brake pads. So this morning early I moved the Dart out of the shop and put the truck on the lift to replace the brakes, rotate the tires and change the oil. When I removed the tires it was evident the rotors were junk too. After a couple...

    New best 60'

Today I hauled the Dart to Jackson TN for T&T, about a two hour drive. For the last week the weather has been unseasonably warm and today was no different, it was in the low 80's at the track with 18-20 mph head wind.. The track was great, these guys do a great job on track prep, the drug and...

    New best tonight

My local track had test & tune tonight in prep for a big bracket race tomorrow. The air was going to be good so I loaded my Dart up and headed out. About a month ago it ran 6.33 @ 108.42. With the good weather I was hoping to better that. First pass it spun and ran 6.31 @ 109.74 with a 1.440...

    Finally got into the 6.30.s

I loaded the Dart up this afternoon to go to test & tune at my local track. This track is known to not hook well. On the first pass the car felt like it was hooking then unloading the tires and repeating, it ran 6.42 @ 108 and change with a 1.42 60'. So I made a small adjustment to the front...

I found a couple issues with my Dart

While my Dart was on the lift to change converters and install adjustable strut rods I found a couple issues in the front suspension. The Viking D/A shock on the passengers side was very stiff on compression even on full soft. Two clicks from full soft and I could barely compress it, four clicks...
