    Plastic for cooling sucks.

Here's a new one. Not your ordinary plastic rad cracking and leaking....no this was a complete blow out of a plastic stat housing on my SC400. WTH? Make these in metal! You can get these in cast AL for $99 AUS. Boy just idling waiting for Mom and he hears a pop and steam starts coming out of...

    Compressor rebuild?

Can you rebuild a Denso 10 piston swash plate compressor if its not grenaded? I guess it would only need new gaskets, bearings and reed valve plates? $450 for a rebuilt is high for me. And then, who sells the plates?

Caravan (or any) A/C clutch diagnostics

My '12 Caravan compressor clutch is not engaging. I've got 110 psi in the A/C low side with motor off, I have 14V to the clutch harness (measuring red to 12+ and black to harness leads) and even motor off I have 7.57V (up from 0V after about 40 seconds of turning motor off and pulling the key)...

    expansion valve testing?

one of my cars 92 Lexus SC400 A/C will not cool. Pump is good I believe as I can see pressure change from high to low when the compressor kicks in. I have 50 psi of R134 in the system when the compressor is running and about 130 psi when its not running from the low side port. I have very slight...

can you 'recondition' an old A/C drier?

Drier is full of desiccant. Desiccant can be dried in an oven...can you bring an old drier back to life by cooking it? LEts say the factory drier is not made anymore and your after stock appearance, or your just a miser.

    A/C sealers....BS?

Got a leak in my work truck A/C. Garage says they dont work on them anymore due to EPA license. I lose about 20 psi in 2 weeks. I usually see 55-60 psi when it's running and when I measure it after 2 weeks it's down to 40-45 and the compressor is cycling. I squirted all the unions I could see...

Do I need a stat with a PWM controlled E-pump?

Davis-Craig electric pump didnt need a thermostat as it was PWM controlled by a thermo switch. Im running a Mezier electric pump and want to do the same: PWM speed control of the pump and run no stat. I have a fabbed LA sheet metal intake with no stat provision (TB interference), only 2 Russell...

Doesnt do it while under speed or in N I just threw in a medium can of R-134 w/oil charge but it didnt help, although it is blowing colder now...Do the electric clutches make this noise? Its not internal, deffinantly down there...

    how do they go bad?

Im looking at my trucks radiator (see pressure post story) and am trying to determine what went wrong. I cleaned the radiator out with pool acid. hardly any crap came out and it looked great inside, bright copper from what I could see inside the lower hose outlet. I notice 1-2 rows of about 60...

    I hate modern cars...

I blew my Breeze radiator on the way home from work this evening. My heater was blowing cold air all the way home and my temp was creeping higher than usual but it wasnt close to hot (because there was no water to the sender most likely) so I get it home to find that I had a hissing from the...

    tracking down a leak

With R134 being almost more than black market R-12 out here in Kalifornia...what can I use to locate a leak? Im down to 20 psi so Im not putting any more "4 in 1" R-134, PAG oil, stop leak (sure...) and dye $20 dollar bills in just to find a leak. Can I pump the system with air from a bike pump...
