1966 Valiant 273 AC accessory drive - finally

I’ve gotten around to assembling the accessory drive for my ‘66 Valiant to add AC on the 273. Here’s what it looks like. This is a single belt system for the AC that has a separate pulley for tension and another idler pulley for more wrap around the compressor. It was rather confusing sorting...

This pic is from the 1966 Assembly Manual book and shows where the tack welds are on the two shroud pieces. Should be the same for '65.

    1965 vs 1966 273 AC accessory drive

The routing for the belts is different for ‘65 & ‘66 273 engines. The ‘65 has two belts for the AC compressor & alternator. While the ‘66 uses one belt for AC with two pulleys. 1965 & 1966 273 AC accessory drive

For the factory AC system on the early A's I've seen two different belt drives. It looks like the earlier ones have two v-belts for the AC compressor and later ones a single belt. I've seen the single belt on some '65 & all '66, possible a mid-'65 change? The '66 has a pulley for belt tension...

What is this AC box for?

I got this a few years ago from someone that originally obtained from an estate, it came with a bunch of other items for '66 Valiant & Barracudas. But it does not look like its for a '66 A-body. It has part number 3502 102 on it if that helps. Then the next questions are who...

    '66 Barracuda AC vacuum switch

Here's the vacuum switch I have from a '66 Barracuda, it's part number 2587564. I've found one almost identical on eBay with part number 3502126 but it has different electrical connectors. Is this a good replacement for my original part?
