10 " wide wheel

Ok guys im looking into buying 15 x 10" wide wheels with 4.5 back spacing. Will this wheel fit a stock wheel well with out rubbing on the in side . I would like the tire not to stick out past the out side of quarter panel more even with it.
 
Okay, since '73 Dusters never came with an 8 3/4 (factory switched to 8 1/4 in '73), we now know it was swapped in- but from what? An earlier A body? If so, do we assume it has aftermarket big bolt pattern axles, and the required big bolt brakes? Or are we dealing with redrilled sbp axles and drums? Or have you done the usual rear end swap from a B body? Have the springs been moved in, or do they remain in the stock location?
Sorry to sound so picky, but every thing mentioned will affect the size wheel you can use and what offset is required- and with a 10" rim there's no room for error, if it fits at all (and I seriously doubt it). Even the rear springs being used, and the ride height will affect it; as will the particular tire size used on that rim, since the sidewall bulge is where the interference is likely to occur.
In all honesty, I don't think you'll be able to fit anything over a 275 on an 8" rim into a stock Duster wheel well... That's about the max I've read that will fit, and that's with all the stars aligning on the factory build tolerances- but I've never personally pushed it that far. Most stock rear end setups don't like more than 4.25 backspace and 10" of rim width is going to require some sort of mods to the wheel well/tub/suspension.
 
It's out of a b body springs are in stock placement and im not looking for the tires to set in the wheel wells i just didn't want the tires to stick out to far for the outside of the quarter panels

10’s on a Duster and any semblance of near the quarter lip will mean a 1/2” spring offset, not stock locations.

If it’s a B body 8 3/4, has it been narrowed? Because if it hasn’t there’s no way a 4.5” backspace is gonna work for you. All the B body 8 3/4’s are wider, and quite honestly even the A body width with stock spring locations wasn’t really gonna do it.

The picture you posted would have a good 2” of tire on the wrong side of the wheel well and quarter lip, so the only reason it doesn’t rub is the ride height. And even that isn’t high enough on that particular car, you put anything in the trunk and those tires will rub.

Air shocks to raise the car are just going to break your shock mounts. Get a set of proper springs if you want to raise the back end.
 
With a b-body 8 3/4, I'd bet you'll need more like a 5.5 backspace. That would be zero offset on a ten" wheel.(really 11 inches wide).

Do you have wheels currently on the car? If so, it'd be really easy to take some measurements based on the current setup to determine what would fit.

If not, get it on jackstands, drop a couple plum bobs, and take some measurements off those.

It depends on the B-body 8 3/4, there's several different widths depending on the year. I have a 68-70 B body 8 3/4 in my Duster, and with a 1/2" spring offset my 18x10's are at 7" of backspace. You'd want less on a 15" wheel because of the sidewall, but not that much less.

Im sure you're right.
Sometimes I get tired of guys asking here what wheels and tires fit, when we aren't there, and they can actually put a tape measure on their own car, cause they are there.
I know what fits on my cars, cause I did my own measuring. It's not hard.
As mopowers said, put a wheel and tire on that fits and you know the bs, see where it can get bigger and wider, and then find a wheel that works.

Exactly. If someone is trying to maximize the space they have, no one on the internet will be able to give a yay or nay without seeing it in person. Hell, both of my cars are different from one side to another in terms of available space. I had to make a compromise on both to run the biggest tire I can. No one on the internet would be able to predict that - I had to actually measure the old fashion way (both sides).

Well first off, this ain't an Only Fans account. This site is full of grown MEN with DECADES of experience at building these cars and you'd do well to listen. I personally love the direction you're going if your goal is to look like that orange car you posted. But the fact is, there are correct ways to do it. That's what he was trying to tell you. Just because his message wasn't delivered to you in a feel good bedtime story all ready to tuck you in doesn't mean it's bad advice. We're not here to powder your butt and put you to bed. We're here to answer questions and give advice. We're grown men. A lot of us (like me) are retired mechanics who did this stuff in shop settings all our lives. You think you're gonna get something sugar coated if you're fixing to do something stupid? You came here to find answers. You're getting them. Good ones, too. Just because the deliveries aren't safe space approved is not our fault.

Im a retired mechanic myself of 45 yrs I do know the route on doing things the right way like I said .was looking for input not a bed time story as you put it

We're trying hard to give you the input you're asking for. As a mechanic, you should well know how mechanics rib each other around the shop. Just relax.
