Can someone help. I have a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 6 cylinder small bolt pattern drum brake set up. I was given the disc brake set up for a 1972 Dart four door. But the guy scraped the upper control arms! :angry7: What can I use that will work. I am assuming the current upper control arm will not work but I really have no idea. Mine are good but I have been told that they will not work. Can someone help me? I am willing to buy aftermarket tubular if need be, but magnum force said theirs were for the 73 and up. A different (bigger) ball joint. So what size ball joint would the 72 arms have? What about the length? Would the 72 spindle fit the 70 6 cyl upper and lower control arms? Thanks...I know I will find my answer here. I love this site!

Dart-n-about!

From my understanding it'll work fine. I know the '73's and up used a larger ball joint ( I heard that that will still work, even though not correct or prefered).

Thanks! I have never done anything like this and I wanted a disc brake set up and couldn't pass up the price. I guess if the ball joint fits the spindles then I am good. I was wondering aboput length as well.

UCA's are the same from drum to disc so you can use your old ones, but the LCA is different, you will have to buy a pair for a disc car, but they are readily available. No difference in length, all of the stock items will change right over. Also, I hope you got all the distribution blocks with the purchase, and of course you will need new lines for a disc brake car, and a dual piston master cylinder for a disc brake car. I just did this swap on my 66 and all went well. Good luck with your swap, Geof

I have used the just suspension front end kit adding the control arms to the package
