Hi guys, I recently picked up a nice matching set of 4 magnum 500 rims 15x8 4.5" of backspacing with 225/60/15 tires for my 72 scamp. The rear of my car is already bbp, I am in the process of converting the front of to bbp. The rear fits very nicely; however I am concerned about the front. I picked up my caliper brackets yesterday, from a member, so I can finish putting the front back together. My question is will a 15x8 rim with a 225/60/15 tire fit on the front with bbp without any issues? I am afraid they will stick out too far, for my liking, in relation to the rear. I cannot seem to find any info on this because it appears that most people run a 15x7 and under on their cars, also leading me to suspect it is not a good idea to run 15x8s on the front. Does anyone have any experience with this? Should I just sell/trade off the two for 15x7s? Thanks guys -Mike

I Just put 15x7 keystone klassics with 3.75" backspacing on the front of my 68 barracuda with 215/60-r15s and one side is catching the front edge of the fender. My car has been hit on that corner so I may be fine if I pull the fender forward a bit but then I might have a gap. The other side does clear but just barely. I'm glad I didn't get the 225/60r15s I thought I wanted.
You might be ok with the 4.5 inches of backspacing, pulling the tire in just a bit would help a bunch on my car.
I just finished the BBP conversion on my car as well.

Thank you for your input. I'm probably just gonna pick up some 15x6 or 15x7 rims for the front. Thank you

I am looking for a pair of 15x8 magnums for the rear of my barracuda. If you want to sell PM me. I am going with 15x6's in the front with 215/60's to keep the tires in tight to the cars centerline. I planned on getting 15x8's for the rear with 255/60's. Might be good for both of us if you just want to sell the rims bare.

Just in case anyone read this and was unsure about the fitment like I was these are 225 60 15 15x8 with 4.5" backspacing. Here you go :happy1:
