I have my Holley 1920 running what I would consider nearly perfect so this question is more of a curiosity. I scoured the FSM and don't see where it mentions which hole the link rod on the accelerator pump should sit in. When I got my 66 Valiant it was in hole "3" aka closest to the firewall. I realized when I put the carb back together I hooked it in hole #2. The car drives wonderfully and moves along just fine. No stumbles, stammers or anything. I'm running a #58 main jet and worked over the entire power valve assembly so that it actuates on time and closes up correctly. The picture below is from a stock photo and not mine. If I'm not seeing any driveability issues should I even bother moving it? I assume this just controls how quickly the pump sprays fuel?

I would use the hole that gives the smallest pump shot that does not give a stumble. Less fuel will be used & less fuel introduced into the cyl to wash down the cyl walls.

Those holes are there for adjustment when guys at the dealers and smaller garages could actually tune a carb when a client had an issue. Fuels have changes and so have the driving conditions. If #2 works for you then run it. The factory suggestions are just that - suggestions to get you close. The pump shot was used to cover up stumbles and lean conditions.

If it runs fine, I would leave it alone, the economaster carbs were meant for fuel mileage, too bad they don't still sell them.

Thanks I figured as such. It's tough to find anyone around locally that remembers much about the 1 barrel Holleys.
