1966 Barracuda. Absolutely stock.
I am replacing stock rims with 14x6.
This had 195's on it when I got it, with my new tires can I go something a tad wider, maybe 215?
TIA

You could use a 215/70 rear and 205/70 front. Probably fit 235/60 or even 245/60 on the rear depending on what rims you use and their offset.

No good answer is possible without knowing the backspace of the wheels you want to use. 3 1/2-4" bs, probably run whatever, 2" backspace, beware.

Well I guess that I should have done more homework before my OP.
The tyres are now off my alloys, and the rims are actually 14x7 inches.
THE BACKSPACE IS 3 & 5/8 inches.
Not sure whether the rims being one inch wider changes my original question, or not??
Sorry if I have confused anyone

I don't know how it's done in Australia (I'm assuming the same as here) but here wheel widths are measured inside bead to bead. and your alloys are then about 8" overall width.
So your alloys are a little deep dish (expected) , because a zero offset wheel would have a bs of 4"
So, I would recommend the smallest 60s aspect ratio that are appropriate for a 7" wheel.
I'd suggest a 215/60x14 all around, or 225/60 in the rear only.

None of these cars is the same assembly wise, so to be sure, you need to measure.

Are you measuring like this? Are your rims 7" wheel width or 7" overall wheel width? It matters on these older A bodies. The more negative offset the harder to fit taller larger tires…. This picture shows negative offset on the right and positive offset on the left

Thank you - and yes we measure the same way!
But we say mudguard, not fender.
Bonnet, not hood.
Boot, not trunk.
and etc.....
hee, hee !

Thanks for that diagram, but yes, I measured wheel width at bead level, and BS from back.
Appreciate your help

Well, that said then, you should be okay with 215 70 14 front. If memory serves the 66 B-Cuda wheel wells are tighter than that of my 70 duster that I use a centerline wheel with similar offset to yours (I think 3 3/8 backspace) with a 215 70 14 tire and it will clear the front bottom corner of the fender by about 1/2" or so at the tightest point of the steering radius.

I also had a 66 barracuda too and with 72 rallye’s rims and 205 70 14 there was zero issue. I believe those rims are only 5.5 wide (6.5 from ourer lip to lip) but they have more of a positive offset.
