1964 Barracuda

Thank you for your reply. I did a VIN decoding and knew the 273 Commando was not an engine option in 1964, nor was the "Formula S" designation. I figured the AC was a dealer installed option as well. Can you please tell me your source for the "widely reported 90% were ordered with the 273" information? Thankfully I paid for the condition of the car, and not the questionable "1 of 1" claim. I do believe the car to be rare in this condition. I love the "typewriter torque flight" as my very first car over 50 years, and 150 cars ago was a 1964 Chrysler Newport which also had the typewriter torque flight. Thanks again, I appreciate you taking the time.
Source was Classic Industries. But I see below Mike has established the 90% V8 number from his Galen book.

Don’t forget to purchase the 64 1/25 promotional model
Haven't found a gold one yet. I have 28 display cases filled with Promotional and diecast models from 1/64th up to 1/10th scale. About 2500 models in total. Several hundred of them are still in my shipping container still in their sealed factory boxes. I rotate the display pieces from time to time as my tastes shift.
I sold diecast cars on eBay from 1998 through 2008 and built most of my collection keeping 1 of nearly everything I bought to sell. I was shipping nearly 300 packages a week in my 1 person operation. I made over $1,500,000.00 profit in the business during that decade, in addition to my restoration business. Then the World economy crashed hard so i quit eBay and focused on my wealthy restoration clients who seemed to be immune to the downturn. Wealthy people make money no matter which way the markets move. They profit on any movement.

^^^There have been several times in my life when I made myself, me, happy. One of which when I stopped spending any $ on a die cast model!!!

The "wealthy restoration clients" are the worse thing to ever hit the old classic car hobby, no matter what brand! They affect everything. Negatively unless you have something they  :BangHead: :steering: want! Good thing I never have to run in their circle.

Actually they aren't. They bought my house, and afforded me a very, very fine 7-figure retirement fund. Besides, there are worse things to be than a Pebble Beach winning refinisher with car magazine covers, and museum displayed pieces on your resume'. As for you not spending any more money on diecasts, I spent $0 out-of-pocket on my collection.

Welcome!
Very nice car, looks like you might need something to hold that battery down.
Also that tar top wannabe battery cover is kind of sketch. I'll be outfitting the car with a battery disconnect and a battery tender very soon. I have an indoor storage bubble with built-in tender coming next Wednesday.

Lets face fact!! You are wealthier and way smarter than most all of us! :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::poke::drama:

That's just one stranger's opinion about another stranger. In life we have to make choices. Some make different choices than others. But all of us have to live with our choices. I will never apologize to anyone about my choices.
