Hey Rob, been lurking around for awhile now and just happened to catch your project. I got a dual reservoir mc for 9" drums that I'm never gonna use, dad bought it a long time ago for some reason and never used it on my car. If I can hunt it down and you want it, its yours.

I am still in aw that the rats, squirrels, whatever have not chewed the wiring all to hell in this car. Nests were EVERYWHERE. The one in the worst spot was right on top of the instrument cluster and had bridged the connections to the ammeter. Dammit man! But I got all that cleaned up now. .....and ZERO damage to the wiring anywhere!

Yeah. You said it. The break's over alright. The throwout bearing in this cheap POS power torque clutch kit is raisin HELL with the clutch pedal depressed. So, the transmission has to come back out. Dammit all. I will at least warranty it out with a new National bearing instead.

Thanks Matt. We've had a rough few years health wise, but hopefully we're comin outta all that now. Although, I am probably fixin to have to quit my job because I am having so much trouble with my feet. Going in Monday for steroid injections in the bottom of my feet. Hopefully that will provide some relief.

Arrrrrgh!!, Rodentia!!! Please be careful/wear a mask, the wrong rodent piss/doody can really F You up Man, I carefully remove & bag-up all of them at work. I use duct tape to get the loose droppings and fold 'em up. It's amazing how persistent they can be, even in new cars being used daily.

I put a wanted post in the wanted section for exterior mirrors. Since I have an artificial eye, my license has a restriction that I have to have left and right exterior mirrors. Anyway, it suddenly hit me that there were a couple of mirrors in the trunk of the car when I got it. Since they were a total mismatch, I all but forgot them. Anyway, I went out and looked at them. Lo and behold, one of them just reeks of 60s coolness, so I brought it in and cleaned it up. It cleaned up pretty good. So I went on Ebay and guess what? I found an exact match. Here is the one I already have and am waiting on the other one. They are called "Yankee Tri Bar Mirrors". I think they are pretty cool and will fit right in with the theme of the car. The one I found is the exact same kind and almost an exact match as far as patina. The electrical tape is there only holding one of the screws in place.

That's a bitchin' mirror! And the fact that you found another makes it all the better!

Now ya gotta get some Lucas tri-bar headlights to match.

Dam guy, maybe u should move to Tulsa and open up ur own O`REILLIES , u could work part time and set on a stool and work the cash register only. A KNOWLEDGABLE "OLD CAR '' person would be welcome around here ! The guys here are pretty good till it comes to anything with age , then all they known is what they can find in a computer.
Good luck with the feet , never miss them till u have to do w/o them for a while !!

Got my super cool tri bar mirrors mounted. I had to mount them in front of the vent windows, forward of the original mirror location, but they will work fine. I think they look cool.

I've seen mirrors on fenders before, but how the heck do you reach them to adjust them? I got long arms, but dangit.

Vintage Japanese cars commonly used fender mirrors. Which is the single reason why I would never mount them on the fenders.

The logic was so that you could see another car or bike that was near to your quarter panel. It was a time when very slow moving crowded traffic was a thing. It wasn't intended to give you the panoramic view that some modern mirrors give.

                          Now that's just ghey.

Sorry I haven't posted more progress. I really haven't done much. Still have to replace a new bad throwout bearing. Also, I determined that it really is overheating, it was not just the instrument cluster voltage regulator. The radiator is stopped up. It is in very good shape physically, so I believe it will stand rodding out. I plan to remove it and do the throwout bearing on my next days off this week. Will keep yall posted.

The Japanese had a law that you had to see the mirrors through the windshield, which is why they were mounted at the end of the fenders.

Our 64 New Yorker had fender mounted mirrors like this one. I remember the radio antenna would bend and touch the mirror at speed, so we put a short section of gas line hose on it to act as an insulator, so it wouldn't mess up the reception.
