1965 Barracuda carpet installation

Hello
I am about to install the carpet on my 1965 Barracuda, any tips on installing?
I have a nice carpet kit for the whole car, and though most of it seems pretty straightforward the back part under the window looks like it might be a bit challenging…
What is the best glue to use in this area, and it looks to be just tucked into the chrome mouldings?
I did not take the old carpet out as i bought the car with the carpet kit but not installed.
In the front does anyone know the proper route for routing the wires going to the floor shifter? The way it is now it’s just duct taped to the floor.

Also does anyone know the proper routing for the tail light harness? They had it going from left rear panel and through the quarter panel and it just doesn’t seem right…
 
I used 3M High Strength 90 Contact Adhesive in a spray can and it worked well. Best advice I read and followed from another thread before was trim the carpet in small increments especially when getting close to your final fit. You don't want to take too much off and then find you have a large gap, be patient. The SS moulding will hide any small gaps where the carpet pieces come together.
As far as the contact cement/carpet under the back window area, I just did my best lining up a couple of key spots on top, front and where the latch holder bracket is located and layed the carpet down.
The wire that runs to the floor shifter on my 66 was also taped to the floor and I kept it that way. The tail light harness does pass through the left rear quarter panel. Your interior rear seat panel and carpet hold down piece will cover the wires.

This might be a silly question but I noticed you also have another set of holes beside where the seat is installed? Been kinda trying to figure out why they are there? Mine is the same and I apologize but I never pulled the seats until I had it home, carpet was pulled out by previous owner.

Your front seat bracket bolts drop through those holes. When you lay the floor carpet you'll need to put a hole through the carpet, I used a heat soldering iron and came in from under the car and melted the carpet away. You could also use something like a sharp razor knife to cut those hole openings from the interior side.
I agree 100% with 65TerrorCudda, take your time.

What I meant to say, is there is 6 holes in the floor pan but the front seats only have 4 bolts. I was just kinda curios as to why because there was some patchwork done on my floor pan, so I thought it was kinda odd but seeing yours it’s the same.

Bench seat holes? That's my guess but like most of my guesses it'll be wrong lol
 
The extra bolt holes are for a bench seat. And, of course, the four holes on either side of the trans tunnel would not be used for a bench seat. I've run both kinds of seats in my 67 Barracuda, don't remember if I had to drill the extra holes when converting from bench to bucket, or if they were already there but plugged. I do remember that my original bench seat car did not have the reinforcements around the four inside holes. I never did put them on, either. Been back to bench for quite a few years now.
