I believe mine are getting a little weak, you can tell when opening the hood that it feels heavier. The wind has blown the hood close a couple of times also. If I get some used ones I could be in the same situation. Any suggestions on this? Thanks

You could convert to hydraulic struts or possibly swap to 67 - up hood hinges with their built in springs. I swap to struts myself.

Are your hinges lubed up good? The trunk rods are adjustable. I don't recall the hood rods are but they may be.

What struts did you use and would you have a picture of your installation. Like that idea.

I used struts for a late 90’s or so Mitsubishi rear hatch. I did a test fit on my wagon back in Oct 2016 and expect finally to install everything this month or early next after the wagon is in paint

Nope on the hood torsion rods. The only sokution for weak rods is to find a better set, maybe convert to a 67-later hinge, or convert to hydraulic lifts. The biggest drawback to the last two is you gotta remove the front fenders for access
