10/31/2013 My new Halloween present to myself. Been watching this car for several years. I purchased it from the original owner who wanted to get the car going, but health problems prohibited him from being able to work on the car. He has seen some of my work and liked what he saw. So he finally decided to sell it to me. I assured him I would finish and keep it. It has been sitting in his garage for over 25 years.
I got it home put a battery in her, poured some gas in the carb and she fired right up! gas tank is full of contaminated gas as expected. So a new tank and sender should be here early next week.

I cannot get over how cherry the grilles, bezels and truck trim is not even a ding! No visible rust either over or under.

I will go back to pretty much factory stock with it. exhaust manifolds are there, engine appears original, trans I haven't checked yet and it is an automatic. sway bar is still in place, proper k frame, master cyl and rad and carb. It is also disc brake car. It also came with a new windshield and the 68-9 front and rear trim and a set of rear panels that were cut for speakers once upon a time.
For what I got it for, all I was interested in was getting it home!
 
THAT.........is a crazy awesome score! Oh my gawd, that's almost like finding a chest of gold at the bottom of the ocean. *high fives* Way to go!

That is AWESOME. Big Block 2 gen fish! Too Cool. Auto or manual car? We need more pictures and info.....

The fender tag is missing from an old paint job. Have not found broadcast sheet. The nice thing about the 67's is that I can get the IBM built card from Chrysler historical to tie the car all together.

So what I can tell from what I see.
H- code 383 engine.
Automatic Transmission - 1 of 748 of all models (FB, notch, convert)
8.75 - gear unknown. will look for tags later.
Formula-s package - sway bar - H.D. suspension, kelsey-hayes disc brakes std w/383, J rims 5.5" plus 2 more with studded snow tires (lol) I don't think they will be used again.
Black interior - bucket seats, console
Vac gauge, 150 speedo and a perfect dash pad!
exterior. GG1 paint - Dark Green metallic


The car seems mostly intact and was never cut for fenderwell headers a big bonus. The factory air cleaner is missing but have a friend who has a couple of them.
 
More pictures found a little rust on the left rear assume it was from something sitting in the trunk.

changed the carb and used a mason jar for a fuel source and got her fired up and backed out of the garage and washed up.

pulled the windshield (broken) and while I was there I decided the dash should be attended to. I had a uncut dash frame that was already powder coated. So I yarded the dash out as a complete assembly. The harness had a couple terminal/connector issues and were replaced with correct packard 56 terminals and solid oem connectors. The rest were beaded clean including the fuse panel to give good connection and to remove surface rust.
Since at this point everything is exposed and easy to get to I will restore the heater box with new seals/gaskets and a heater core. Replace the wiper bushings and seals and all the firewall seals/gaskets. I am also going to refinish the bezel, polish the lenses, and install new bulbs in the cluster. Fortunately the dash pad is perfectly cherry.

Wow, nice......you're really goin' to town on it! When I saw this pic, I thought this is the car that shoulda been in "Bullitt" instead of that mustwang! Looks rough and ready!

I glass beaded the ash tray receiver and foot light fixture and they came out real nice, like new. All gaskets I purchased from DMT, heater core I purchased locally. going to also rebuild the master cylinder as it is seeping from behind. With my left arm/shoulder being unusable right now progress is slow due to needing helping hand with many things. Thanks to my babe helping out and digging in when needed! Who doesn't a love a girl who likes working on cars and getting down and dirty on them!!
 
nope no build sheet. it is a 67 though so I did order the build card from Chrysler historical. I did find the real estate section of the Oregonian from march 26th 1972 under the gas tank! lol thought I had scored a broadcast sheet for a second !!

It is interesting that it has a 1969 150 Speedometer in it. Must have had issues with it at some point. Good looking car!
 
I have a couple 67 150 speedo assemblies in my stock pile. I have already put a new 67 cable in it.
I assume, since no decor' package, known so far anyhow, it was probably a factory 120 speedo car. The 150 appears to be an addition and I will maintain that "creative licence" and keep it that way but with a proper 67 unit. More pictures coming soon trying not to jump around with posting as much I am with the car.
