Tomorrow morning I am going to "look" at, (with cash in hand and a trailer in tow), a 1969 Slickback. I don't have much info yet, but it is likely 318 and it looks like it has AC from the pics I got. It is supposedly complete, but is in a state of disassembly. If all goes well, it will be loaded up and on it's way to a new home by noon.

Looks like it has a new drivers side quarter panel installed. Does the duct tape keep the hood down or the front fenders on?

LOL, It appears to be the high speed duct tape, so I would go with the hood!

Thank you. Yes, I'm positive you know where some less rusted ones are! Unfortunately, we have to deal with it up here as a regular part of the hobby. I am hoping that because he started with a quarter, the rust is mostly superficial.

Agreed, I really hope the trim is there. It looks like "he" removed it to me, so I'm thinking it will be.

Don't worry Tom. If it is anything worth the price, you'l be seeing it.

It's got rust but it is mostly complete. Came with a 318. Not sure if original. I'll get a better look at it later. It appears to be an early 69 as it has black door handles.

I couldn't get My Mopar decoder to work on my phone? Anyway here is what I came up with. A couple codes say unknown. The engine is non original likewise for the transmission. The car is jammed with parts. He stuffed all the A-body stuff he had in there I'm sure. I probably won't even get a good look at it all until the weekend. But I saw a console, the other tail light spare door handles and front signal lights. He said there is two dashes in there. The buckets are later Duster with the grey inserts. Somebody tried to do front floor pans and the quarter is just screwed on. He said all the chrome trim is in the car. It came with a swaybar on the k member. Overall, for $850, I'm ok with it. If it can't be saved, the sum of the parts will be worth that anyway.

Edit: I just found N78 as a 1968 only code for performance gauge. Being an early build supports this I guess.

That would be a good summertime cruiser with the bucket seat w/console interior with A/C,hopefully it's not too rusty to be saved.
The Y2 paint code is for Sunfire Yellow which it appears to be so you might be lucky and the car still has it's original paint and no surprises hiding under a repaint.

Thanx C. Yes from what I have read on here they are kinda rare, and it does seem like most were 318 cars as far as I can tell. Probably not too many formula models came with it. I can't wait to dig into it but I am out of town and I purchased it here! If it didn't get dark so early I'd already have it sorted!

Well I had a small look at the contents yesterday. The original dash is tucked in the car along with a spare frame. The AC heater box and a second nonAC are there as well. It appears to have two interiors thrown in. Definitely Duster bucket seats. All chrome. Slickback and rear window most importantly. Wiring etc all there. I started to look at the rust situation but it got dark and my phone / flashlight died! The rear rails will need some repair right at the back. But the driver front rail will need replaced. I have fronts but I just sold my only rears! That's ok, they only need about 6" of steel. The wheelhouses are surprisingly good. Both front floor sections have been replaced but the work done is poor. I will have a bit of work repairing them. Sorry I can't get good pics until the weekend.

Got it in Calgary. Apparently it used to live around red deer. I think I know the guy in red deer that had it before. I'm trying to track his name down again. Yes Dave you bet I got the chrome for the roof!

Yep I think I might just know a guy with the sections I need! Only a couple more days and I'll be home with it. Then the digging will begin. I already think it is a very good candidate for resurrection. I know you can't save them all but I figure you can't give up easily either. This will likely be one more 69 back into the Mopar world. At least I will give it more than a fair chance.
