I’ putting the engine(170 cid slant six) back together in my 1965 Plymouth Valiant. I got a “new” exhaust manifold for it, and it seems to have come off a 1970-1972 slant six. I now need a choke well, gasket, and probably a thermostat for it.

Does anyone know if this will fit: 1970-72 Choke Well Cup & Gasket – National Mo-Parts

And could you point me in the direction of a choke assembly that will fit my Holley 1920? Or was that not a combination that was available between 1970-1972?

The small block choke well cup and gasket will not work on slant 6 engines.
70-72 uses cup Chrysler part number 2946529 and gasket #2946530.
Gaskets can be found on eBay but the cup can be hard to find.
Maybe one of the members can help you.
Because of the cup and gasket that exhaust manifold takes, it is the least desirable manifold.
slantsixdan may have some suggestions.

Thank you!

I’ve found a NOS well. I’m thinking that if I combine that with a 1231 electric choke conversion kit I should be fine… I hope. Electric Choke Conversion Kit CU1231

If you do convert to an electric choke, you no longer need a $$ NOS choke well. Just make a block off plate out of 1/8" flat stock, bolt it on with a little copper gasket maker and you're done.

Agree with Prof Fate, except that RTV (copper or otherwise) won't get the job done. You really need a real gasket here. Cut it from appropriate gasket material and spray it with Copper Cote.

The electric choke kit is a good idea. № 1231 unless you're using a Holley 1945 carb, then it's a № 1234.
