I found a '70 dart that's suppose to be a number matching unmolested car. It has ps, pdb, ac, at. Was power brakes even a option in '70 on a bodies? It has a bucket seat console interior. No tuff wheel or a rally dash, wasn't the rally dash standard on 340 cars? Going by the photos and what the ad says, it's a nice car. Now for the bad part asking price is $30,000.

Rally dash was standard on 340 cars. Run Forrest run!

Your going to have to dig deeper if you want to really know what this car is. Personally I would hire a mopar specific appraiser AFTER I thoroughly went over it. A #1 H code dart is a $ 40k car.

My mistake, I rechecked the ad and it does have the rally dash, but $30,000 is out of my budget.

I'm sure that it's worth the 30k to someone, but not me. I'm not looking for or wanting a investment grand car. I'm wanting a V/8 a body with ps,ac. I have found some 6 cylinder cars but I'm not able to climb all over cars these days and I'm not going to pay a garage a high price to V/8 a car for me. That's why I figured a budget to get me a nice car that's a V/8.

$30K sounds like a LOT unless it is a BEAUTIFULLY restored car and is truly matching numbers. And even then, $30 is a lot of money unles the car is rather special. Pictures, or a link to an advertisement would help. When you say unmolested, do you mean survivor? Because a true survivor car with ALL original matching number/date coded parts can be worth more.

My 71 340 duster had power brakes, ps and A/c. 71 was the last year of the rally dash.

Sounds like a pretty high optioned Dart. Most were bench seat and no power anything

VIN should start with LM23H0R. Another easy give away is that only the Swinger 340s had Dart and Swinger emblems on the trunk lid - all the others had a cursive Dodge emblem.

I don't know if it's a survivor or not, but it does still has the factory air cleaner housing and exhaust manifolds. It's probably a awesome car to own but it's out of my budget and what I'm wanting a car for. I surely don't want a car that I'd be afraid to take out because of its rarity and I can't afford to own multiple vehicles besides our regular vehicles.

I have noticed that mopars don't have as much reproduction parts available for them like the Chevy and Fords do. There's a lot of interior parts that aren't available. Bumpers, taillight lenses ect. And I'm talking about the '70-'74 A bodies, it's sad. I was surprised that reproduction console bodies are not available either. It's a challenge to own / repair a mopar but I like them just the same.

A lot of what isn't repoped is because there is still a steady supply of restorable old parts. If you need a console body, PM me. What else can't you find?

The car that I passed on was a 1973 dart sport, interior trim parts for the dart sports are not reproduced and pretty much impossible to find. The mopar enthusiast has a difficult task in locating parts, sad but true.

thats about right if it is original un molested etc as they say. A thing to remember is a restored car is no longer original so the survivors bring big bucks.

That's awesome. The cuda looks great. I know that there are parts out there but as I've said I don't have the extra money to hunt down a car or parts for it. I'm looking for something that I can enjoy, I don't mind having to do a little work on it.
