I’ve been told it’s a 1 year only column. What are the differences and can it be used in a 71 or 72 car. I think 70 had a transmission lock out or something kind of added on linkage? Thanks. Kim

As a whole column, '70-73 should interchange. Yes, the '70 had the ignition lock linkage on the floor shift models. The '70 and '71 used a different lock cylinder and upper housing than the '72-3 also. Other than that, it's most an appearance difference. You may also want to take a look at the ignition switch and turn signal harness plug to make sure it has the options you need, or, you will need to swap those out to match the needs of the car.

I interchanged a 70 Dart steering column in my son's 71 Valiant when he lost his key... It worked...
