My best friend passed away a couple months ago
and had this 440 HP Engine/Trans sitting on under
his patio cover for the last 45+ years.
It is a Feb 70 build as I recall.
It has the Wide Six Pack 908 Rods (Hemi Width)
and Offset Dampener (You can tell by special Dampener)
I believe that it is never been take apart.
It had a 6 pack induction when he bought it but without
VIN from car = I do not know if original or not
It does have a Torquer 440 Intake/ Mallory Ignition
Hooker Header (One Bent up)/Chrome Valve Covers.

It is out of his 1970 Plymouth GTX per his brother
I am not a collector so I had my son take pictures
of all the ID #s we could find on it.
It is stamped HP on front ID plate.
It has been sitting under his patio cover for 45+years.in
It will need rebuilding by now but it is all there and complete!
I can deliver in Nevada/Calif for gas money.
I am going from So Nevada to West Texas and could probably
take it with me and deliver for free along the way this coming Weekend.
I am located in Las Vegas Nevada Area

$1,950. Complete
$1,800. Less Trans/Converter

I will call the the family with any Serious and "Reasonable"
Offers.

Thank you Sir for the help!
It was attached to the engine when I
took it all off the porch and I do not know the background.
He probably exploded a couple transmission back it the day!
I am a racer and not a collector and I appreciate the
help!
I do know it is a 70 HP 440 Engine.
I put all the #s I could find in the pics = I do not want
anyone disappointed or be misled in any way.

their might be numbers on the raised pad at top, front left corner of block. It is obviously an RB block.

I will have my boy take a pic of front Pad =

It does have F440 and HP on it for sure and I think a couple other
numbers on it. I will get a pic of date code on the block =
I remember it is Feb 1970 from loading it.

45 years is a long time. Does the motor turn ?
Yes Sir = I truly is a long time!
I pulled a valve cover and everything looked pretty good.
I put a wrench on the front and gently pushed on it a bit =
I was afraid to push to hard and break the rings (It did not move readily)
. If I end of buyingt myself - I will take it apart and oil everything and push the pistons
out one at a time with a wooden handle. That is how I always try to do it.
I really do not care about the pistons at all and I will overbore it anyway.
I found a Brand New set of JE Forged Pistons New in the box that I had at
the shop for my Superstock Car = They are .055 Over (Common size for 440
and easy to find rings for). They are flat Top with Generous Valve relief for
almost any cam and set up for near 0 Deck with little decking. If someone buys the engine they can have them for $175. They would be a great Street/Strip combo or for a pump gas combo ( 9.5 to 11.0 depending on head CC ).
I paid $992 for these a couple of years ago (Only with engine purchase for that price). Basically - the engine is a core and I would expect to totally rebuild it.
