1971 Demon fiberglass fender extensions

The fender extensions on my 1972 Demon are fiberglass, I believe they're from a set of 1971 Demon fenders. I need to know if anyone knows if either of these studs listed on year one will fit them to bolt them to the fenders I'd appreciate some help.

Interesting...I am pretty sure one of mine is a 71 and the other a 72 and they are both pot metal. Sorry, I'm not sure which of those is correct. I think mine had a shorter insert side like the first picture but I don't want to steer you wrong.

Thanks for the reply, my car originally had pot metal ones too but once I found these I latched on and haven’t let go. On occasion you will see a pair on eBay but not often. There is a company that makes new fiberglass ones but I’ve had these for 25 years or more.

I too run a Demon but I have literally no idea which is correct? If you find out we would love to know!

I believe 1970 Dart was the only one that got fiberglass extensions, they had the mounting studs screw in kinda like the hood scoops on some years. 1971 were made of metal with the mounting studs cast in, 1972 was similar but the inside area where the eyebrow trim goes is more shallow, not a big deal if you don’t have the trim. Some may have a single hole on the side if the car was equipped with the aluminum side trim moulding.

They all interchange, just pointing out the differences if you want to be correct. They can all be hard to find in good shape....fiberglass ones crack and break, the metal ones often have the mounting studs break off.

i couldn’t care less about them being “correct” I have them because they’re significantly lighter than the pot metal ones. I just need to determine which studs fit

My 71 Demon has the fiberglass extensions on the front. I was lucky enough to find a nice pair with the chrome trim in nice condition but they are the pot metal ones. I think the base 318 cars got fiberglass and the 340 cars got the pot metal extensions. The car I got these off of was a 340 car.

My '71 slant 6 swinger was fiberglass too.

When I got the car ,71 dart swinger, it had been in a fender bender and so I bought some front end parts from Turner's Auto Wrecking in 1996..

I finally now realize that.."wish I kept her" bullshit could apply to a used up pos on wheels. Sentimental nonsense..lol

I had a 70 Swinger 340 car and those were metal. Who knows why they did both...

Sorry about that. I pulled a stud out of the replacement extensions (metal) and they use a machine thread. The studs that you pictured should work on the fiberglass extensions. Check the depth of the holes for the studs. If they are around 3/4" deep, go with the longer studs.
