1971 Dodge Demon Sold for $126,500 on Mecum

You have absolutely no idea of the condition of this car, how much rust was in it or how it was treated and restored.

You didn't see it in person.

You saw the video and immediately jumped to all sorts of conclusions without one fact to back up your claims.

You have presented a poor fact less opinion at best.

Reminds me of the " Experts" I meet at car-shows.

".... Mines better than that!.."

" .... He didn't do this , he didn't do that...."

" ....My Father/Mother/Brother/Sister had one just like it..."

"... Not worth that... I can do it cheaper..."

Right...
Look no further then the repair on the hinge pillar. Tells the whole story of the condition of that body. He smear tons of lipstick on that pig to find the buyer he did.

I never said I was better then him. I said I would have never repaired a car that bad to resell. I fixed worse replacing complet fronts for customers as drivers but I would never fix a body that bad for myself or to resell.

Many buyers don't know whats hidden behind repairs like that. They look at the paint and have no clue whats under it. Who would expect a car that clean to have all that hidden rust hiding under that shiney paint.

Once the repairs were started on that car he was committed . He just didn't do the metal work how it should have been done. All the rust should have been cut out around the pillar and the whole pillar should have been removed . There is a right way and a wrong way to do metal work and that was not the right way on a car finished to that caliber.

Could I have done better ? No because I wouldn't have fixed a car that bad . I fixed some pretty bad cars in my days but always for customer owned cars that saw what they started with. That car should have been rebodied to make it safe. Its far from original anyway.

Because some of you keep going on about his great work I would imagine your cars aren't much better. Could you all imagine that car taking a corner shot on the pillar and door. It would push that thing right in on your lap. The pillar is connected to a rusted rocker and firewall support.

The right way

I'll put my car up against anything that came from your shop and it was way worse than the Demon shown here.

Go ahead.. Tell me what panels were replaced/rusty/NOS/Aftermarket ??

You judged the Demon by just looking at it.. this should be easy.

Boy you really have issues. What does this picture of this car have anything to do with the pictures of the rust on that Demon.

And Many of my cars done were rust free cars from over 30 years ago. In the last 10 years I fix and repaired cars that were patched and they rusted around repairs done by others like yours or this Demon years back.

Didn't you post a picture of this car with the complete roof sawed off? Did you but weld the a pillars back on? All I see is a primered bare shell. Can't see whats under that primer could be sculpted bondo . lol

I did that in the mid 70's. I think I am 25 yrs old here Thats 45 years ago. You would be comparing your work to 100's of mine. You could see some of them a Carlisle.

Now I let the grand kids ruin them.

Just like I thought..

You can't tell anything about what we did to my car.

Not a clue.

Just like you had no idea what was done to the Demon until we posted pics of the actual rebuild.

My car was brought to bare metal, inside and out, every surface and seam treated, every nut, bolt and fastner treated before install.

Just as your car could also be full of bondo.

How could anyone tell different by just looking at it?

Doubt if there is much rust or bondo on a car 45 years ago in my picture.

Can't say much about yours I saw it with the roof off in a previous picture . I have a fast back here that don't need a roof. And we will still cut it up for scrap. Someone put quarters and floors in it like a butcher. We already cut the striker jams out. Came with new bumpers ,mint interior and dash pads . plus extra grilles. right now there are 8 cudas next door. and we just finished one that was absolutely rust free.

Sometimes you just have to know when to move on. But if you only have one your stuck with what you have.

From what I was told about you your biggest accomplishment is a sale person at a Cannabis store and bought some tools at Harbor freight

LOL! Every bit of that is false. And I've said that, and you and the other member that told you that both got a vacation for posting some other guys information and saying it was me. But it was never me, those posts were deleted for being false and that's why you got a vacation.

But when you get pissed and don't have a leg to stand on, you always roll that out like it hurts my feelings. I just laugh, because it proves you're a liar and a person with no integrity at all.

The pictures of what I have seen of this purple Demon. He does nice work to pass the car on to an unsuspecting buyer of what it actually was.
I know your reading comprehension is lacking, but, that car was built for a customer, not for auction, not sure why you still insist differently. And there's nothing hiding on that car, unlike the cars you've moved body numbers on. Remember, you admitted it and I have your own words and pictures to back it up.

You all from the west coast don't have a clue how far rust on these cars on the east coast extend into the rest of the body.

I have been starting with bare shells since the late 70's and I have seen it all. Unlike your dreams I have been there.
Lol. Sure. You know some of us on the West Coast have had the pleasure of working on cars that didn't come from here right?

And I thought you didn't work on rusty cars? Just cut them up? Besides, nobody's seen it all. Easiest way to know someone is lying is when they say that.
I don't have much but Now 2 shops . several trucks and trailers . excavators ,and equipment you couldn't imagine the machine shop equipment. And most important 7 grand kids

Yeah you posted your kids shop here before. The instagram my wife started for our dog to share pictures with our friends has more followers than your kid's machine shop. I'm glad you like it, but as far as machine shops go it's pretty basic small town stuff. Yeah, yeah, you bought a fancy machine second hand at auction. Neat.

What did you accomplish with your skills? 2 car garage and a press and four POS cars. But you can never stop trolling me who is the jealous person

There are some really good people on the west coast what happened to you? Life must not have treated you well. Well almost done with breakfast I have to go do work in the shop. As my granddaughter says , After while Crocodile, See ya Later alligator. LMFAO

I'm not trolling you OMM. When you post bullshit, I call it out. When you lie, I call it out. Unfortunately you do that a lot, so here we are.

Life's treated me great! I have more than 4 cars, they're not all Mopars so I don't post them all here. 2 car garage? oh, yeah, this one
img_9047-jpeg.1716415018

But I've got a little shop too. It'll only hold about 6 cars with my tools and equipment.
IMG_8858.jpg

But, there are times when you have to take a stand.

Owning/maintaining Mopars is hard enough without having them crapped on by misinformation.

The hard fact is that the more A-Bodies are restored, the more likelihood that Manufacturers will re-introduce hard to find parts for them.

The auctions provide the exposure for these models and the medium for new owners to buy them.

Look at what happened to the B and E Bodies .

You can now pretty much build one from scratch !
Exactly. Tolerating OMM's lies and BS benefits no one. Trying to drag down a guy because he did a better job and the car sold for great money at auction just shows how little character OMM really has.

Yeah, we know you cut up fixable cars, you bring that up a lot. The fact that you brag about it just proves you're a scrapper more than anything else. Take the easy way out, make the quick profit, make fun of people that put the time and effort into cars because they actually have skills and aren't in it for the money.

If I wanted some over-restored trailer queen to post pictures of I'd buy one, I can afford it. I like driving my car. And hey, I've been driving my Mopar POS's for over 18 years now and I've never had the suspension fall off of any of mine, I must be good at something.

More replies then the amount of migrants in your state.

But you got one thing true I did change numbers on a customers car when we put a new front clip on. We welded in his original numbers on the new front clip to matched the car. That is when I posted how we did it. But your trolling me is evident with all this bullshit.

And for my son's new shop only being 3 yrs old he's doing pretty good. Word of mouth business no advertising not even a sign and out in the country along the mountain. Lots of new equipment we paid cash for. From $75,000 to $100,000 thousand and up for many machines and a new $159,000 excavator delivered. 2 used international dump trucks . John deere tractor and many trailers enclosed and open as well as 3500 diesel rams. All paid for.

Not to mention we built his house and converted the small garage to a machine shop in a three year span.

Some used equipment from auctions some we kept some we sold. Most bought for tooling

And as for the Vacation for stating facts about a weed shop. When did that happen? But you love to make up stories.

New and used machines and this is what in one small building out of three. We are working on the bigger two story . The new addition he plans on opening a slot car track / hobby shop and adding on to the house.

He is basically doing Diesels for dealers and trucking companies. and has employees, The Cat , Detroit , Cummins all pay up over 30k -40k each. Heads are 10k.

Not a financed empty pole building and a new Ram inside . To bad you can't finance a paint job on your Plymouth Demon Mutt

If only you would have got to know me before you started trying to make a dick of yourself. I probably could have helped you with some things for your car. Like the Cuda man above. We have so many parts here at Todds for Barracudas it would make your head spin. And now Todd has to clean up. and wants me to sell some things for him. He has been collecting Barracuda parts since the 80's and now he wants to thin out.

Some of you cut off your nose to spite your face for what. To try and convince people that the Demon rust bucket was worth what it sold for. Yoyr dreaming.

This was a deal.

Oh yeah, I remember his orange duster that he crashed due to his own negligence in suspension assembly. What a clown
Another story teller. I neglected to check a cheap chinese double flat bolt that was stripped at a front end alignment shop.

Tou didn't remember that well, Engine builder ? You mean bearing destroyer. We all heard of your basket case builds .

And I bet some of you are still running these bolts with only half the threads.

The eccentric was loose from being stripped and the tires from my Roadrunner that were on the car for winter to remove the slicks and front runners. Tire hit the fender when the car came down from suspension lift on a launch. My neglect? I didn't do a pre-trip.

oh man, i can't wait for my elder statesman era when i'll be able to say totally unhinged **** and play the blame game on anything and everything that doesn't turn out my way.
I wasn't driving the car , So what are you talking about. Whats unhinged about the truth of what happened. If the front runners were still on, the car would still be here. We were going to bring it in that day for a Ray barton designed K-member and struts.
