Craigslist find, Not mine, in Detroit area. Phone number is provided in listing link.

Looks to be fairly original and complete, great white/black combo.

Has fender tag, and bet it may even have a build sheet give condition. Did not decode, but it is legible enough to do so.

    Wish I was closer...

Post a note on FABO if anyone of you lucky Demon lovers gets it.

That’s a good price. Lots to restore it though. Kim

1972 automatic. And I’m sure it’s got some rust repair.....

I see $30K car tops with a resto you’d pay someone else $60K plus to do.

For $6K it damn sure better start, run, and do a burnout.

Amazing. Awesome car but people have lost their damn minds. Or maybe I'm living in the past. Glad I got my $1,000 beater while I did.

Cost way too much to restore than it is worth. Too bad

I would have paid maybe 400.00 for that around 1990.... Today people have no sense to pricing so it will literally get what someone is willing to pay... Crazy....

But the mushrooms that watch Barret Jackson saying "dude, look at this!" every 10 minutes don't know that. They only know that in their mind the rust bucket in their back yard is now worth big bucks.

I guess I'll go the other way and say if it's solid underneath, that's not bad. Under the hood looks solid. Looks straight, and I bet I could be driving that on a Saturday afternoon. Pretty original, not even headers. Notice the 8 track player?? :)

I've never had a taker on my offer... :D But here goes again.....

I'm sure somebody here of all the "Naysayers" has a better '72 Demon H code 340 car that they would love to sell me for less.... if so, PM me.

Oh, sorry. That was your A-body 8 3/4 complete drum to drum for 1200 bucks? And your 340 block only for 800 bucks? And 400 bucks for the buckets no better than what I see in the pictures??? :D

gotta say the stupid price is everywhere.

and that car will not bring $6000.00 at auction.

matter of fact most the cars for sale on here will not bring their asking price at auction.

need a reality check and an honest valuation of your car or a car you are interested in buying?

look at Old Car Buyers Guide for realistic pricing and determining condition.

A lot of negative comments on this car i see.
I suppose it all comes with your perspective.
If you are a buyer, fix it up a bit and flip it kind of guy, then this probably isn't the car for you.
If you are an enthusiast that wants this specific car to restore/keep it and enjoy no matter the price, then this car is probably the one for you.
Generally, these cars are a poor investment, they are more a labor of love.
That's where their value lies IMHO............

Post intended to stir up conversation, so all is good.

I like all types, but have a special place for original. Yes price is high, but there is always the opportunity to make an offer, and I have been pleasantly surprised on occasion when sellers come to reason once you go through the process of sharing your knowledge and passion for what they do/do not have.

There is also a world of difference negotiating in-person, over any other method, which is why I still wish I were not so far.

Just about everybody lists higher than market value, allowing themselves room for negotiating. In this case, the big factors would be rust/lack their of, and if its a #’s car with a build sheet. That could easily swing the price by 40% for me, with a likely ceiling of $4.5K on this one, which I think is within the realm of negotiation. Also am not looking at this one from the flipper perspective, which would call for a different set of numbers to make sense.

Not all cars are purchased to be fully restored/by others, but made to be drivers, and this one looks to have potential to be that with some elbow grease, and not anywhere near the money which could be spent paying to fully restore it. As most here know, a huge factor on potential of a car and what can/does result depends on the buyers personal skill, and available time/willingness to do the work themselves.

A very complete and original car, provides the option of both being made into a driver, and have the #’s upside if chosen to be restored at a later time.

The last 340 car I bought was a 1970 340 4 speed duster, disc, tach, xtra 340, orig 340, steel wheels with aluminum dog dish, rootbeer metallic surface rust, rusted lower qrtrs...3.23 suregrip.

I paid 3000 for it and towed it home not running. Fair price.

Because I love Mopars to me they are worth more than all other cars, but... realistically that is a $3,000 car as is... if it does not have rust holes the size of your fist through the bottom of it.

I paid $6k for mine. As you see in the photo.

Feeling ripped off? I'll give ya 6k for it .. LOL :)

I think though, a couple things have to be considered. All else being equal, The Demon, being only made 2 years, normally brings more money than a Duster. And Dusters normally bring more money than Scamps/Swingers - again, all else being equal.
This Demon, by looking at the pictures provided, seems pretty legit and an honest original car. Now that Demons are normally the cream-of-the-crop in the 1970-1976 A-body field, then it's not only the "right car", but has the right options - namely a 340, buckets/console, and dual snorkel hood scoop. It looks to be complete, and pretty straight and solid. That is why I say you don't go buying cars like this for 3k.

I looked about 3 years before I finally found a solid Duster. Slant car, and the insides showed it's age as well as the outsides. 2800.00 bucks.

I'm at 5k now with the 318 (500 dollar build I did right here on fabo), Schumacher mounts, rebuilt 904, dual exhaust, new radiator, rallye wheels, battery, etc. but still no paint or interior work.

I do NOT have a car like that for sale. IF I owned that car it would not be for sale for any price, but I would not pay that price.

I have 3 cars NOT for sale and I did NOT pay THOSE kind of prices for them.

I have parts cars that I sell parts off of but they are less desirable models that were way past restoration, none were p or h code cars and p and h code cars are worth restoring in any condition as long as one does so realistically and value conscious.
