Looking to thin out my extra parts here, and have not heard anything back from anyone regarding it being the motor for their car, so I'm looking to sell my extra 1973 model year 340.

I have not had a machine shop inspect it due to $$$, but I did perform my own measurements with my digital micrometer. It is currently bored 0.030" over. As far as I can tell, the main bearing and connecting rod journals have both been turned down 0.010". The part numbers on the bearings are both hard to read but there is a ".010" stamped on both the main and connecting rod journal. I believe they sell bearings for 0.020" and 0.030" over, so having 0.010" off is just the first stage. Plenty of meat left.

It is a factory cast crank motor, though research suggests that these cranks may have been hardened. The connecting rods might be stock (not sure) but the pistons are definitely aftermarket. I didn't see a part number anywhere unfortunately. Definitely aluminum.

Here are the numbers stamped on it:
Pan Rail: 3B234531
Date Code: __ * 26 * 72 (not sure why there's a space; maybe it's supposed to be 2 * 6 * 72)
Part #: 2780930-340-8

Pictures below.
Asking $350 for the entire bottom end (crank, pistons, rods, all bearing caps, and I think I might even have a spare windage tray and timing cover to throw in.
Located in North Smithfield, RI (02896)
Prefer pick-up, but I can deliver within a reasonable distance for a fee or you can arrange shipping. I have pallets.

Thanks all.
-Mike

I will follow up with pictures of each cylinder tomorrow night (Don't have the pictures on me). All bores are clean, as far as I can remember. No cylinder wall ridge. Motor supposedly had been rebuilt recently when I purchased it, but isn't that always the case? lol
-Mike

I got a little carried away putting trim on the Swinger last night, so I forgot to take pictures of each cylinder.

I will take some and have them up this afternoon.

I also have the cylinder heads, J-head castings, which have been ported and polished and had the larger 2.02" intake valves installed. I CC'ed the heads a few years ago and I believe they had 73CC combustion chambers. The valve springs were installed on these heads, which were on the motor, with the purple shaft cam which is included.

I was going to keep the heads and the intake manifold (used Holley street dominator), but if somebody's looking for a package deal, I could let them go.
$650 for the block, rotating assembly, heads, camshaft, timing cover, and the intake manifold.
Or I can mix and match.
Let me know what you're looking for.

Moper responded first, followed by racerkilla. Keep me posted and I will move forward based on PMs. Thanks

-Mike

Racerkilla backed out, and Moper said he doesn't need it.

Anybody else interested. I'll offer what I offered Racerkilla- $650 for everything, $550 without the intake manifolds, or just shoot me an offer for what you want.
Thanks for looking.

-Mike

73 - go back over the lower end. At least one piston - #8 hole - is in backwards. You will want to make sure that rod is on the piston right and the rod is correctly oriented on the crank - the tapered side goes towards the crank fillet.

That was just a simple mistake on my part after I pulled that piston to to get pictures. The piston and rod were never disassembled. I'm just a little lysdexic.

Still no definite buyers... Is anybody interested in either the short block or long block? I'd prefer to keep it together, but shoot me a PM and make me an offer. I don't mind discussing deals.

-Mike

Still available. I'm fairly certain this is priced fairly, but feel free to shoot me an offer. The worst I can say is "no".

-Mike

Price drop- $600 for the short block, intake, and heads. Or I can price individual parts.
Shipping to be arranged by buyer.
Thanks.
