Well, last December i bought a Plymouth Duster 1974 on Mexico City (CDMX). Imported from El Paso in 1985 the car still having a good shape, the engine is a little bit tired but sounds good. (5 of 6 cylinders give me 100 PCI, the last cylinder give 95 PCI, no smoke, no noises)

From december to march, i have changed the brake hoses (front and rear), seals from the rear shafts and the bearings, water to coolant, and wheel cylinders rear.

On all this time i was buying some parts like:

-Control arm bushings (lower and upper)
-Tie rods (4)
-One knuckle arm (i cant find the other)]
-Strut bushings
-k frame
-Engine mounts
-Transmission mount
-Tail lights lenses
-Lower and upper control arm bumpers
-Radiator

And now, finally the car is with the mechanic for an overhaul.

Some pictures for you guys.

PD.: Im having some problems to find the front drums here, 1980 rasybestos fits fine in my car?

Yesterday my dad took the new power steering box from Autozone to the mechanic, the k frame now is painted in black, maybe this week the engine will be mounted with the steering box and his new pump (the mechanis is trying to find one)

Some pics to compare before and after of the frame and the brake hoses.

Im thinking to paint the rims in black, and made a proposal on photoshop. What do you think?

i used the autozone degreaser, but unfortunately i don't have the space to do it well and i gave up. What differential is? my duster came with DANA 30 (i think). Try to use WD40 for stuck parts.

(sorry if my english is not good, i'm trying to practice using google translate as little as possible)

Interesting that it has a FoMoCo alternator.

Nice.

Check out these MX only rally wheels!

It's an eight and three quarter 8.75 rear....has 489 case with 3.91 sure-grip...and yes WD-40 and striking the backing plate ...it finally gave....

Yeap, an electrical technician told me that. "tu alternador es de un ford" (your alternator is from a ford). Actually i have issues with the cluster lights and the front lights, i need accelerate to have good light in both cases.,

It's a 74 with the 75 and up oil can front bumper mounts.

Btw: where did you get the re-pop taillight lenses from?

Pressing in all new bushings and replacing all grommets and ball joints, tie rods, idle arm etc...want it to be as stiff as possible .mine came with /6 and I upgraded to 340 so just added member for V8 with sway bar...trying to give it the treatment I would have if i ordered it new

Nice, i found a used k frame on better shape that mine for $500 mexican pesos, around $30 dlls or less, i had to do a little trip get it.

i want to keep the / 6 with a little upgrade to super 6, maybe in some years a 318 swap, maybe.

I'm pretty sure 74 was first year for this 99.9% this is just a parts car but I try to study all years
