1977 Dodge truck bed mounting bracket

I have a 1977 Dodge w100 truck and noticed that the channel mount welded to the underneath bed at the front passenger side of appears backwards making no mount for attaching the rubber mounts to frame rail bracket. The channel mount is welded from the factory in this position. Should in mount like the drivers side front bed mount or is a special bracket required since it would be on the C channel side of frame rail?

i can get you pics this evening. I have a 78 w200, the bed mounts are the same.
