About to yank a 5.9 out of 1989 dodge D250 truck.

What do I need to make sure and get with the engine ( any sensors or puters?) for use in a 72 duster?

Its not my truck so I need to grab the engine and whatever else is needed before the truck goes to scrap.

All that's up to you. Are you going to keep the fuel injection? If so, get every frikkin sensor on it and the computer too. Make sure you get the balancer and the flex plate or flywheel. Other than that, I'd get as much as humanly possible. You can always sell it later if you don't need it.

Slap a carb manifold on it and a regular distributor and you are good to go.

An 89 D250 won't have a Magnum 5.9 unless someone previously swapped it in. In 89 they were still running LA engines, and it would be either carbureted or throttle body injected.
Double check the model year or get a picture of the engine.

TBI I have on my 88. Good motor just a bunch of emissions stuff. Prob a 360, not to many 360's went in them.

that should be an LA roller cam motor

I'd get all the brackets and pulleys and keep them together

Grab from the fan to flywheel or even the torque converter. Heck! Take the trans if you can with driveshaft.
Oil pan to air cleaner. Exhaust manifold to exhaust manifold.
              Engine mounts as well.

Grab everything you can, but here is something to ponder upon before going the EFI route.

It's still a good LA engine core.

If you can, grab the tranny with it.
If original it would be an LA rotating assemble with a roller cam with shaft oiling 308 heads and 1.5 stamped rockers.
                            The tranny if auto is a 46rh 3wire. (518)

I would grab the entire wiring harness, including the dash harness., all sensors trans controls everything on the engine. Be aware if you go with aftermkt fuel sys. and ignition, it is much simpler wiring - BUT the AC thermistor, fuel pump safety cutoff, purge canister, trans kickdown, lockup, fans. etc. are all looking for input/output from the smec and the tbi sensors. Took me almost four years to debug all this on my 89 Shelby Dak. The LA roller engines are wonderful build basics. Good luck.
