My /6 had a 1 barrel and was replaced with a 2 before I bought it. The manifold wasn't changed so the choke will not hook up. Where can I buy one or do I need to purchase a new manifold? Second There are 2 springs that hook up on the side of the carb. It has an automatic and I can't remember where they go. Can you guys help me. Car is a 65 barracuda that I am restoring and not driven but am making progress.
Thanks so much for your help.

How did they put the 2 barrel carb on a one barrel if The manifold wasn't changed .

Here is a picture of a 1 barrel carb and all choke and throttle springs on a 66 a body. is yours a 65 barracuda / automatic/?

Could it be he's talking about the exhaust manifold not being changed? I believe the 2bbl exhaust manifolds...some of them...did have a different sized heat pocket for the thermal choke assembly. Not an expert, but just a thought. Oh, my new 225 is getting dropped into the dart sometime late this month. Then it'll be a trip to the exhaust guy to get piped up, and then we'll see what happens. I'm trying to come up with an aesthetically pleasing way to set up a GM HEI module so it doesn't look entirely cludged together, yet is still properly heatsinked.

Maybe the car came out with a 2 barrel but has a newer carb. I'm not sure, all I know is the choke sits crossway in the motor and for it to hook up to this carb it would have to run parallel with the motor. Yes it is an automatic.
thanks

Use a new electric choke. For a number of reasons you will be happyer. You need to go over to .org and find the post on auto chokes(use the search function).
Or call me and Ill look it up for you. Im no good with the links thing.
