So just like lots of other people car has been apart for 20 years
I bought this 1973 Plymouth duster in 1997 brought it home freshened up the engine with cam port and polished heads and intake put a 3500 stall converter in it and swapped out the rear axle for 8 3/4 put an Auburn Pro differential in it and 391 gear super stock springs drove the car for two months in 1999 and after Say a handful of times at the dragstrip blew the transmission after that completely disassembled the car what a big mistake now 20 years later here is a picture from when it ran

From those pics the car looks to be in real good shape. Doesn't look like it needs much rust repair. How are the quarters?

I have a 65 Dart GT I bought about a year ago because I missed driving a classic. In2016 I bought a 69 super bee project. Took it apart and have moved the pieces twice now. Finally got it going back together.......slowly. 72F386F1-AC01-4BFB-A05A-E04D6D3B3D49.jpeg

It's called life. It gets in the way of allowing you to concentrate of getting things done. Back when I was young and single I used to get these cars done quicker, but they are getting older and in rougher shape when you find them. Parts aren't as easy to find like they used to be in the junkyards everywhere etc. Sometimes other things like kids, family and other assorted sundries kinda put a wrench in it all too. I am working my ass off to retire at 62, possibly 60 if I play my cards right, then will get up in the morning, drink a cup of coffee, and go out in my shop all day to work on my junk. Hopefully I dont croak before then. Kids will be grown and gone by then, I will have my free time back.

My youngest is 7. I put him to work in the garage with me on a 69 notchback that will be his with his own sweat equity so lately we get out there more often. Mostly just weekends though.

I find the parts you don't take off you don't have to put back on.

I also found that if I can't get things back together in a week end or two I'm screwed.

Had a 68 mustang started as an engine rebuild, then an engine compartment cleaning and repaint. 1 year later the entire thing was disassembled in a storage unit. Shell sat on parents driveway for 5 years. Finally sold the parts and scrapped the shell, too bad rust free CA car.

Buy one someone else took apart!! lol I have done it many times over the years, BUT now days all the parts better be there, not to mention all the unique bolts, screws!! Like said^^, there are few of these old cars left in any boneyard, and if so, 8oo mi. away!!!
I been looking for a 71- up B body project. I will not pay the price for a sorta restored ( ha) driver. When I do find a project, it is either a mess lacking all kinds of parts, or taken apart scattered everywhere. A cheap roller missing stuff eventually would cost a fortune in buying all the stuff MIA!

Black K member and aluminum for the components or metallic silver. That's my vote.

You can buy a spray can of a natural steel color, works good if clean metal , especially if epoxy primed, like rear springs. . I would say semi gloss on black parts. Correct is duplicating the fatory, but lke hw many people today would spray a car in single stage and not bc/cc? ( me for one)

After hours of laying on my back scuffing And sanding finally got her ready for paint took it up to work
Finished up some last minute welding and then into the paint booth because I am too ADD to focus on the whole car at once just did the engine bay and underside next I will work on rear axle and suspension going to get as much of the car put together as I can then work on the bodywork
