Has anyone run a 235-60-15 TA on the front of a 68 Barracuda. Stock suspension. I am going to run 15x7 or 15x8 ralleys.

I have the 73-76 Disk brake conversion on mine. I thought that pushed the tires out a .25 inch which hurt clearance. What brakes are on yours?

I've tried 235/60/15 on a 15x7 4.25 backspace and I had some slight rubbing lower front wheel lip. I ran 225/60/15 on 15x7 rallies with the stock 4.25 backspacing for years though.

If you have stock SBP drums or disks I think you probably could get away with 235/60/15 on a 15x7 rallye with 4.25 backspacing (stock)

15x8 have 4.5 backspacing that helps, but the 1" wider width will put the centerline of tire still out .25 inches compared to a 15x7 with 4.25 backspacing. So a 15x8 4.5 bksp will give you less room in front than the 15x7 rallye

Some cars will very depending on past collisions and production variablity.

Im in the process of rebuilding the front suspension now. Stock 340s now. I have not decided on what disc brake conversion I will use . I am running 383 t bars. Would like to run an autocross once in a while but nothing serious. Was going to run 15x7 or 15x8 ralley wheels with 4.5 backspace. As you have stated tires are getting hard to find for 15s.

The 11.75 disk and single piston calipers will be fine for autocross. You don't run repeated lap and have to slow the car down from high speed straights.

Last spring I purchased 225/60-15's to mount on 15x7 ralley wheels with 4.25" back spacing for the front. They just barely touched the lower front edge of the fender when the tire was turned in (straight ahed they are fine). I was backing up one day while turning and hit a dip that compresed the suspension some and the tire caught the fender and folded fender up under.

A 15x8 would be worse as would a 235/60 tire. I swapped the 225/60's for 215/60's.

I have 225-50-15 on the front and they just seem short.

I have 215-60s on the front now. They are to small for me.

If you try 225/60/15 check the distance to the front bottom wheel lip turning the tires to the closest point. Should be 3/4" clearance. If not fold in lip or try positioning the lower fender support brace out for more clearance.

Moving the lower fender brace will be hard on a Barracuda sense they have a lower valence that bolts onto the front lower fender. That makes thing more ridid. On my 68 Dart, with no valence, I drilled new support holes on the lower fender and pulled it out a bunch. Looks fine, but if I mention it to someone they can notice it's flared out down there.

I run 245/50/15 tires now on 15x8 rallyes. That works great. But that size is eliminated in popular brands and street compounds. Avon, Mickey Thompson might make something like it.

I've have four 225/50/15 p-zero's on 15x7 4.25 bksp on my 68 once. My car is very lower so it looked OK, but still a little small.

That short tire with my low ride height setting made the car seriously low. Like the front k-member would slam head onto to those parking space curb stop. No scraping, just thud and stop. Would scrap my exhaust in the middle of the car do to high centering.
