You heard that right, thats what I found today while working on the hotrod!
I installed new door seals and wanted to adjust my strikers, decided to take them off and clean them up.
First thing the threaded backing plate fell into the 1/4 as someone decided to bend out the retaining tabs.
I was able to retrieve it through the rear window opening.
Here is a pic of the 1 shim, 24 grit oxide sandpaper
I'll fix it right and have seen a few questionable fixes in my day, but this was a new one.
