As some may recall I reversed engineered (from measurements and photos) a 67 (one year only) V8 fan shroud, well I bit the bullet yesterday and sent the file off to be 3D printed. Prototyping large pieces is EXPENSIVE!

When I get the prototype, I will test fit and make adjustments. If there is anyone in the northern Colorado area who has a real 67 ( must be 67.... 68 up is physically different but will fit so I have been told) shroud I could come and see to check my details please let me know.

I will investigate injection molding the shroud but I suspect it will be cost prohibitive, There are some 3D Print materials that can hold up to under hood environments but that too is expensive.

Thats awesome. At my shop we prototype suspension and transmission parts for some of the race cars we build, before we send to CNC. We've run our machines for 5 days on some prints. I can see the cost because of setup time and for time on the printer.

What you did is really cool, I hope it works out. I dont know if they 3d print yet, but Sendcutsend is always pretty cost effective...for the most part.

I have been pretty happy with cloud craft 3D

This is a big print, approx 23" x 20" x3"

We have a printer at work that will do it but it would have been $1000.00.

Really good fit.

This weekend I'll see how the opening to fan fit is.

Unfortunately it came in broken, ( I sent the 3D printer a message)

A positive for it being broken is I can put it on without taking the fan off!
