Based upon our location here in the great state of Texas, I could drive to jonn6464 in about 9 hours or so. Lol ch1ll, I was referring to your post. I’m still navigating the inner workings of a forum and tagging (new to this sort of thing). I understand what you’re saying now. Thanks for the reply

If you remove all of the studs and the vacuum tee from that super six intake, it will fit in a large flat rate game box and ship for like 21.90 flat rate with the USPS. I have shipped several like that. You will probably have to order the box off the USPS web site. They are free and ship free. You'll likely get a box of 25.

even the 4bbl iron intake fit in the game boxes. Remove the studs and pay the $21 bucks. $4/gallon here in CA. That's about a buck every 5 minutes at 60 mph getting 20 MPG. $20 gets you 100 minutes on the road.....The 2bbl auto kickdown will cost you as much as the intake.

If you remove the vacuum tree, and any studs, the manifold will fit in a USPS flat rate "game" box.

Here is my idea, the alternative to jonn6464's manifold. Again, the plan was to bore out an additional hole to retrofit a 2bbl mount. Might fool around and do what this fellow did in the following youtube link. What do you guys think?

That's a great idea, but he used the wrong adapter on it. He needed the Offenhauser 4006. That adapter is SOLID aluminum. The one he used is VERY prone to cracking where the studs and nuts tighten up. Ask me how I KNOW!

that ebay one looks like one from an older model before they had EGR. which for our purposes is great. Which means that you don't have to worry about blocking something off, that isn't even there.

I noticed the slight angle the fellow in the video placed that adapter plate; what exactly is the importance of the slight degree? Is it a matter of fuel flow from carb to intake? Or could a level install work just as fine?

Hopefully that question made a bit of sense.

The engine is inclined in the chassis, nose-up, keepin' the carb level.....

I've been doing that for years.
Back in the day, a lot of guys laughed at me for being a hoarder.
Now, i'm having the last laugh with them because who do they come to for some obscure little part?
              Yep, it's me.
To piss them off further, I simply give the part to them or charge a small amount........

$300 for a super six manifold? Someone is smokin the good stuff.
For less than that I got super six manifold stack, 2 extra /6 heads, and from a different guy, I got a complete but disassembled /6 225 forged crank core, which also came with a super 6 stack......all just over a year ago/ within a month of each other, just before this scamdemic blew up. One /6 is running around on my kid's truck, the other one is in my garage just about to get bolted onto that forged crank engine which is now also all overhauled.

The super six kick down setup and brackets are what some will pay $ for. Yea the intake is worth a buck or two also.

I've always called that splittin hairs. What I do is level the car up by the carburetor air cleaner ring. Get it level front to back and side to side and adjust the float levels. Since the car is constantly changing when driven, I don't think it really matters "much".
