30 x 40 x 10 build and cost

-
mine cost 25K in 2016 including electric but no heat

Seems a bit steep, but probably on par with the new inflated prices of everything. I wonder if that $9k for concrete included the apron out front too? I would have added another 2' for the ceiling height to be able to put a lift in there and park my camper inside.

My 24x30x10 garage cost $37k in 2010-2011 when the previous owner built it. Has a thick slab of concrete for a lift, not sure how thick, no apron off the door. He did absolutely none of the work, it's not insulated, or wired besides three outlets. I wish he would have built a 30x40, the limit in my town.

So I did a 24x30x9 building. I have been meaning for a while to break it down so happy to tabulate it all and share. Going to round off the top of my head:

- Building with permit package and hurricane supports: 14K (includes 2 10' W doors, small window, access door)
- Slab: $4.5K (I didn't but would be +3.8K for 6" slab vs 4")
- Electrical: $3.8K + Fixtures $300 (had separate meter installed)
- Minisplit (self Install): $1.2K + $100 in hardware bits
- Spray Foam Insulation: $3.5K
- Concrete drive up to the building (fairly large): $4.5K
- Polyurea flooring (a bit excessive but wanted to do it before using it, moving stuff in, getting oil on it, etc): 3.5K
- Ring camera/spotlight: $150
- Rolling Door Opener and Keypad Door Knob: $250
- Permits: $150

Approximate Total:>>>> ~$36K Complete

Some items above are still a work in progress. Happy to offer my two cents having researched everything to death and still fresh in my mind.

In 1993 I bought my 30x40x12 pole building as a kit from 81 Lumber for $6500. That was a walk in door and a 10' sliding door, all metal siding and roof included. Did it all myself with the wife except had to hire some help to set the trusses and had the floor poured. Best thing I did was put white metal roofing on the trusses for the ceiling. Probably have $10000 in it total. I think right now just the building itself from Menards is $20000.

I built this in 2016 , 17 , 18 .. all in , everything it cost $70,000 plus-ish

My 30x40x10. Built early this summer, spent 19k on how you see it. Materials, concrete and electrical. Not insulted yet but that's coming.

I did my metal 24x28 with 9 foot walls back in 2006 and it didn't quite break 5K with the concrete slab. Kitty told me at the time to do 2 and hook them together. I wished I had listened. Stuff will never be that cheap again.

Boy you got that right. I was toying between a 30x40 and a 40x60. Told the wife we didn't need that much space in the 40x60. What an idiot I was.
