I have a slightly modified teener, with a fresh dual exhaust system. The muffler shop put thrush mufflers on it. The engine has not been fired up yet. Are they alright for crountry driving? Also how close to the torsion bar should the exaust be? Thanks

Perfect for country driving!

The muffler should not be close to the torsion bar unless header mount. Even then I would blast it and not worry!

Pictures would be great.

What size/diameter is the exhaust? If it’s 2.5” or 3” then it will be quite close to the torsion bar on the drivers side. Did you replace the starter motor with a mini starter motor? Depending on how the shop did the exhaust install, it could be difficult removing the full size starter down the road when it fails.

Depending on the exhaust kit and the skill of the shop, they might even need to dent the down pipe to clear the torsion bar.

Here is some pictures. Are thrush muffler s any good? Real close to torsion bar.

Ahhh the well known dent in the drivers side down pipe! Looks good.

Go for a drive to see if you like the Thrush mufflers. Doesn’t really matter what others think of them as they are on your car. If you don’t like them, replace them with others.
