340 Block Date Code Question

I started to clean up a 340 block today and it has a 8.20.67 date code. I thought these only came out in 1969. Any ideas?

The 340 came out in 68 block casting for the production would have started in 67.

A 8-20-67 casting date (Like Longgone said) would be for a 68 car. Nothing strange here.


Note..... My car for example. It is a 1968 Barracuda, 340 Formula S. It came with a 340.

Funny…. This is the second time I have heard someone mention that a 340 didn't come out until 69 or 70.
