One '71 340 block, .040 over, needs one sleeve replaced, steel crank that needs 1 journal repaired. $150 + shipping. One '73 340 block, .040 over, needs one sleeve replaced, cast crank, 7 rods and pistons. $150 + shipping. All parts located in Ruskin, FL. I will be going to NC in 2 days and then to Bristol, TN next weekend. Can meet anywhere in between and deliver them.

I am going to take these blocks, cranks, rods and pistons to the scrap metal yard on Tuesday, July 9th if I do not sell them today.

Why would you scrap 340 blocks? I would give you scrap price but shipping would kill a person. I would hord them somewhere till someone buys them local. Please don't scrap them. They are hard to find.

I am going to scrap them for the same reason that I crushed a '77 Plymouth Arrow. I tried to sell it on Moparts, Ebay, Craigslist, FABO and Racing Junk for months and months with just a few responses, some of which kept telling me that they were going to buy it and never did. I tried to sell it for 1/2 of what I got for it at the crusher and still couldn't sell it. I have tried selling these parts previously with the same results. I just moved and have no where to keep them, no money to fix them and I need the money. Two weeks from now someone will be wanting them, or saying that they do. Too many tire kickers out there.

I would buy these in a New York second if they were in my area. Scrap price won't bring very much money (maybe $75 for the pile) but I understand what you are saying.

I would have crushed a '77 Plymouth Arrow without even bothering to post it for sale so that isn't a good comparison.

I looked in the other thread and didn't see a vin for either block. Looked like possibly the number off the front.

Vin is on flat machined surface, just above oil pan rail, around the block drain pug, side of block with oil filter (Pass Side).

I found a block for a car that was in NV.... block was in NY....

Yes these blocks really get around. I have the original block for a 69 dart here in pa and the car is in Sweden. The guy didn't want the motor.

Ok, update time, got those blocks today, so I will post the vins for whover is interested.. one has a casting date of 1-16-71 and the vin is 1B450577 it is .030 the other one has a casting date of 1-15-73 and is vin 3B337142 it is .040 over

happy to see you saved these blocks from the scrap pile!!

Yeah, no scrap pile for these! Actually, only one looks to need a sleave, the other I think will be fine, it had a few nicks below the ring travel, no big deal. Both blocks will be fixed, and put to good use....
