Not long ago I saw a thread here referring to A and LA block engines. I can't seem to find it now , but it referred to the motor mounts available haven't fit correctly in "30 Years" and require shims to make them fit. Is this correct where I landed ?

I think if it all lines up in the slots in your K member you're golden

Im gonna guess it's the 318 vs 340/360 drivers mount bracket that is different . Some aftermarket manufacturers dont recognize this. Mant people space it out just like pictured and it works for the most part. I have a couple of 340/360 spool mounts which are different than the passenger side.

Actually, the pictures are of both right and left. Both needed spacers to secure , but different distances. You're correct about the 318 coming out and 360 going in. I intend to redo some measurements tomorrow and will check back if there wrong. Thanks !!

Went back this morning and remeasured everything comparing the old 318, the new 360, and the front subframe. All seem to be alike. Seems okay ! Thankyou for all the helpful input. Here we go !!!.

The LA small block engines use the same engine mount mounting on the right side, whether the spool type, or the earlier separate bracket and insulator type. The 273 and 318 use the same engine mount mounting on the left and the 340 and 360 use a different spacing on one bolt for the engine mount mounting on the left, whether the spool type, or the earlier separate bracket and insulator type. The 273 never used the spool type in a factory configuration, but it can mount like the 318.

Original Chrysler spool type mounts are shown in the following image:

An original Chrysler 318 left mount is shown in the following images with an NOS Chrysler left 340/360 mount side by side for comparison:

The 340/360 left mount is shown in the following image on a 340 engine:

The 318 left mount is shown in the following image on a 340 engine. Note the gap at the rear mounting face to the block boss:

The following image shows the gap at ~5/16" - 3/8". The gap can vary at the bracket ear position due to manufacturing or handling. Aftermarket mounts might have more variance.

The gap can be filled with a spacer:

No spacer or adjustment is needed on this side.

I think I know what the OP is referring to, having just gone through this myself.
Swapped a 360 in place of a toasted 318- figured I'd save myself some work and get brand new mounts (spool type brackets and inserts) instead of messing with the inserts right now.
Well, I'm a realist and knew from the numbers that the "360" mounts were actually 318 mounts- no biggie, slap a spacer between the bracket and the rear lug on the driver's side and move on to something more important.
But when I got them, they weren't even close. Stamped from thinner metal than the stockers, and the spacing was more than 1/4" off.
The pictures don't look as bad as they actually are:

(Shown here compared to factory brackets)
Not only is the spread too wide, the lower bolt hole on the front side of the bracket is actually drilled on the "curve" of the stamping, and a washer is needed there as well just to bring the front holes onto the same plane.
So the moral of the story is: Buy a bag of washers before you go to mount these up, even on a 318. There's only 1 bolt on each side that doesn't require spacing on these chintzy things.
Oh, one more thing- the hole through the insert for the through bolt is waay oversized. I actually cut a length of 1/2" EMT for each side and drove them in there to take up most of the slop.
Saddest part is that all the brands are probably the same, just reboxed...

Looking at Professor Fates photos, I bought the same mounts. (Saw the boxes in the picture). Similar results, but I believe that they finally fit with the correct combination of spacers. Sounds like these are becoming fairly common issues.

Nope...they go the same place our grannies always told us to wash......behind the ears!

Lol,,,,I just rewatched the video .
I must have been having a senior moment,,,after I saw the pics,,,then I remembered .
Bolts in ears,,,then mount from other side behind the ears,,,,easy as pie .
