Upon disassembly my magnum block cylinder walls aren't looking too great. It hasn't gone to machineshop yet but im thinking itl probably go 30 over.

I don't want to bump my compression up so high I cant run cheap gas, i drive the crap out of my car so i cant afford that extra dollar a gallon.

will these pistons be a good choice for a good budget friendly rebuild? I'm running stock heads. plan on doing an oregon regrind cam.

For that money I’d pay an extra 80 bucks and order some hypereutectic pistons from summit. Depending on your heads and head gasket thickness you could probably use a +5 and still compression compatible with regular or mid grade pump gas.

How many tanks of gas do you use in a year? If you put 15 gallons in every time and bought even 40 tanks that’s only 600 bucks more for the year to run premium? Premium has other benefits to, like better mileage, and cleaner burning, can run more timing and get better performance?

I daily drive it from april-November, As it is i average about a tank a week.

That’s a stock style replacement hypereutectic cast piston. Absolutely nothing wrong with using them and they are perfect for a stock rebuild. The only downside is pressed fit pins. Have a competent machine shop press em on.
