4 Speed Resto?

After disassembly and cleaning of my 4 speed I noticed 3 white paint blotches on it. One was located top center of the tail housing, one on the side of the tail housing where the shifter mounting plate is located, and the other was at the bottom of the front bearing retainer. These look like factory markings to me, just wondering what you guys thought. Thanks Warren

Yup...pretty common. You should find three numbers and maybe a white 'X' on the passenger side...as well as some orange over the casting number below the VIN pad....
