4179425 90 Deg Adaptor LA 360?

All,

During my engine install I got around to installing my 90 degree oil filter adaptor. Turns out the Bolt and Washer Kit from Brewers is way to tall for the 4719425 Alum Housing I bought from here. In searching the p/n it turns out that I found some matches which said it was a 318 only. To make it work I need a completely different through bolt. Also I see that there are cast iron adapters with a taller "hat" that appear to fit the bolt and gasket kit that I bought.

Will this work on a LA 360 w/ headersand if so where can I source a bolt? Or is it 318 unique?

They will fit any small block, the newer style has a shorter bolt, you can google it or ebay there easy to find.
 
I just went through this with this adapter. It is not a real 90 and will NOT work with HP manifolds.

So there is a difference between aluminum adapter and cast steel adapter? Which s better to use? Who do you get gasket set for adapter from?

no.. there is an alumn and cast one that are the same.. th eone they are talking about must be a newer thing.
 
There is a newer style. Such as a diplomat or something newer. It’s a production part. Sounds like headers is no issue. But HP manifolds will not work with it. This is good to know it does work with headers.

The sizes are different. The aluminum piece is shorter, hence the shorter bolt. I found out the hard way. Luckily I located a smaller length center bolt. The basic kit comes from Brewers. I just sold the larger bolt here a month ago or so.

Get a short spin on filter and sell the 90 adapter. You can clear most any header with a shorty filter and you got 1/3 of the gaskets to leak. Short filter can actually be changed, I had a hell of a time actually getting an HP-1 down to my 90 so I went with a remote.

Problem is the adapter deal surface is huge. Bigger than any spin on I've seen for light duty stuff. Way bigger than an FL1A even
 
You still need the LA adapter plate. Get a short spin on filter and sell the 90 adapter. You can clear most any header with a shorty filter and you got 1/3 of the gaskets to leak. Short filter can actually be changed, I had a hell of a time actually getting an HP-1 down to my 90 so I went with a remote.

So here's my issue, my adapter plate ceiling surface is 4 ½ inch OD with 4-in ID. None of the spin-on filters you listed will work.
